I hope Favre is able to make the Jets relevant. Last year certainly was a return to the status quo for the green and white. At the same time, I was hoping Pennington might allow the Dolphins to compete but it looks like Henne may start, although I don't see how #10's experience does not make him the opening day choice at qb. Everyone loves to talk about the AFC, but as I recall through a foggy and distorted memory, Eli Manning went from villified to glorified in 6 weeks as the Giants won the prize. Can't wait for the season to begin!!

You all have seen the SI's NFL issue, right? Or maybe read it on the 'Net? Some surprises there in their picks. Did I read or am I dreaming that THE EAGLES are picked as the NFC Superbowl team? After a 12-4 season? Where again are y'alls foo-foo teams? Speak up, lads, can't hear you over the roar of the Philly crowds cheering another victory.
Oh, and BTW forget our linebackers' having a combined 34 NFL games--1 is studying molecular biology, another has an investment banking internship at season's end and the third was all-NCAA Scholar for three years running--they'll find a way to get it done. The Philadelphia Eagles under defensive co-ordinator Jimmy Johnson have one of the more complex defenses in the NFL, and that accumulated brainpower accelerates their learning it and working together to make it work. It doesn't help them MISS the the tackles or other assorted smack-downs, but MAKE them. Plus these guys hang together on off-times. They will be a force to be reckoned with. Another thing, the Eagles special teams have been signicantly strengthened as well--their field position in particular last year was pitiful. BRING IT.
