Two cases I am aware of:

1. Wealthy attractive American lawyer friend, about 60 yrs old, met a 20 year old Cuban girl, non-professional, and managed to legally get her here and married her. His money and legal skills paid off.
I met her here. She is a smart beauty and barely speaks English.
She seems to be dynamite in a small package. I hope it works out for both of them. Usually such an age and cultural difference cannot be overcome in the long run.

2. Gringo, about 30 years old, met young Nica working girl, who is an extra smart beauty and falls in love. He wants to marry her. He pays her monthly to be off the program, and gets down to SJO to see her when he can. He is not trying hard to get her a visa to go North. He is not learning Spanish very quickly. I predict this may not work out.
She is really ahead of him in maturity in some ways.
I "dated" this girl when she was working and she was an absolute GFE. I hope he and she are not hurt by the experience and that their relationship does work but we shall see.

King: It will be fascinating to follow his adventure. The question is, does she really love him or just want out of nicaragua? Maybe you will not know that for a long time.

As for being a cynic, that is not necessarily a bad thing. A cynic is a guy that does not believe every story he hears. He questions everything and tries to see the real story behind what may be apparent. A cynic usually does a better job dealing with reality.

His only chance is to move to Calle Ocho or Hialea and never take her anywhere else. One gringa friend and he should hang it up.

King Costa as usual a very interesting post.

As I am contemplating marrying a russian girl (I've never been there and I don't have a particular girl in mind just lusting after pics on a russian dating site) I have questions:

1. How long has he been divorced
2. Where is he moving her to (ie Miami would be a breeze)
3. How can a pre-nuptial be valid unless it was written in spanish and english and she had her attorney review it?

Of course I wish them the best and hope we can keep up with this adventure.

Philly Rookie:

First off, you have to change your handle, you ain't a rookie no more.
Great point. Did not ask him if they were both tested for STDs not to mention pregancy. I would assume pregnancy very likely considering her age desire to "seal the deal" with a Ch*ld from the guy.

Goal... he has been divorced for sometime. IMHO not a rebound romance.
Not moving to Miami. As I said, moving to mid atlantic without many Latinos. I don't know about the pre-nuptuals in Spanish and English.

Astro.... I figured you would enjoy this story due to your insatiable appetite for adventure and drama.

Since I don't know Marriage Monger very well and never met the chica, I will reserve comment on the potential success of this marriage. Based on previous posts by other mongers, it appears that these marriages have a very high failure rate. I wonder how his K*D from his previous marriage is going to view this. How will she fit into his social structure. Marriage monger is from an Italian American background. How homesick will she become. Will she appreciate the higher standard of living or have negative feelings about it because her family is not living well in Nicaragua.
I believe they are both Catholic. I should be very interesting to follow this.

Goal,
Just a word of warning:
Do A LOT of research before getting involved in any Eastern European or Russian women.

The Russian mafia has taken over that part of the world and have established countless fraudulent introduction agencies and P4P venues. The horror stories are numerous and very scary.

That said, check out these ladies:
http://zadorno.com/

I also suggest checking out this site: www.planet-love.com
There is tons of information there from guys who have been there and done that but DO NOT mention anything regarding P4P or you'll be banned permanently.

Hey Witling THANKS for posting those I tell ya there are bulletin boards/chat rooms for everything there is no reason to be an ignorant sucker on any subject.

I've bookmarked your links, I have a buddy that has hit Russia 8 times, no doubt there are some scams.

I'm kidding about marrying a russian chick but I've always wanted to see Hermitage in St Petersburg anyway so it's an easy way to combine both addictions women and art...

A new record. Paco revives a thread that died 3 years, 3 months, 28 days days ago

I nominate him for CRT EMT of the year award. He is an absolute winner no one will revive an older thread in 2008.
