I have never cared for the food there. And I never really saw many hotties there, either. I'm not a fan.

Well yes it is not the best place to eat for sure and the girls some times need some work . But I like the location and the room rates at the castillo .
I find everything I need or want is less then a short walk away from the castillo . Heck every day last year when i was there for 2 weeks I managed to go for a daily walk and always managed to get a sexy lady and never had to worry about needing a cab or a map to get back to the castillo .I don't know about any memberships or even what they are good for. As for who owns it I really don't know.
But like I said if you want a fantastic motel room then pay more for it then and spend money you could spend on more girls! Me I'll stay at the castillo ,save a few bucks and use the extra cash for more girls to enjoy!
So if you have the white collar tastes for motels then be prepared to pay more for the room at a casino and get them $200 per hour girls.
I'll get same quality of girl for less and also enjoy sleeping in a cheap nice quite hotel castillo

I'm a white collar blue blood and Castillo is just fine by me. Comfortable and friendly. Never pay more than you have to be to happy and comfortable.

I must say that the pizza is quite good. The chica selection is decent (depending on when you show up) as well. Don't expect to find as many chicas as you will find at the Del Rey, or even Sportsman's. However, there are a few fun ones there. I've seen a low of 0 chicas to a high of 8-10 chicas at one time. Usually, it will be 2-4.

I have heard that the Gardens has closed and will reopen in about a week under new management.

I have heard that it has already reopened, and it is being called its old name "La Palma." I was told the new manager running it seems like a decent sort of guy.

Perhaps the place has gone "full circle," and is getting back to its roots. 8)

I fell sorry for anyone that got suckered into the $500 club fee because now they are probably left high and dry and I bet Bo is hard to find these days.

The $500 was the membership fee to the Garden's Gentlemens Club. Somehow, I kinda doubt they got too many takers for it. :?

A few months back it was $500 for 3 meals a day for a year. Breakfast I was told was cut back, or you were to go way out back where the Castillo had juice, fruit, pinto gallo, coffee. Lunch and dinner was an all day Salad Bar that came with a separate plate of chicken, beef, fish for the members. Only a few locals were members that I could tell.

The locals also had deal at the bar, where they paid for a bottle of their favorite drink, say Crown Royal, plus $10. Then when they came to the bar they got their bottle and drank from it for free except for any additives like ice & cola etc. I think you could pick either membership. The local guys were pretty friendly and fairly eclectic. Gringos.

4 or 5 of the regulars were doing that at the bar. 10-20 gals that frequent the place all were in on the meal gig, at what price I dont know. Anyone could get the salad bar, with a hot additive or not at any time without membership. Darren and Castillo crowd would stop in for a drink now and then. Decent bar scene most of the time if it wasn't empty.

Pretty daytime gal, about 21, her sis Alex was Bo's girl (wife?), both sweet. Their brother actually bartended too at night, Alvaro. Good service & yea that Sugar Coke as someone said. Kinda high $ on drinks, but CRT discount 10% on total bill. Girls were pretty comparable to the basic SL crowd, maybe not as many hotties or raw numbers, perhaps a little less pricey though. A New York bar girl thrown in now and then.

A handy place if you were at the Castillo or Hemingway or to stop in on ocassion. Sometimes people were hanging in the outside bar garden area, hit or miss. Tom was in and out of the place, Bo and the girls seem'd to run the place at that time anyway. Again this was May/June.

Someone was issuing photo ID cards to gals and signing them up for an internet site of some type, related to the dance bar down the road a piece. Didn't ask too many questions. A cozy friendly place with a seamy underside...a diversion from the flashier HDR etc.

So, do Tom and Bo still own/run the place? If not, is Alehandra (Bartender and Bo's wife) still working there? What happened?

The place is still closed with a rumored grand opening on the 12th. It won't be a mongering bar anymore though is the word.
