Does anyone have a list of countries Tica's can visit (travel as a tourist) without getting a visa?

I'm giving 10:1 ID knows! Maybe I should have just PM'd him. :lol:

I know they can visit all of Central America and any of the South American countries that don't require a VISA. They can visit Mexico and Canada.

NOPE, Canada is out...

I tried once... They need to get a visa for there just like the states...

This is a GREAT SITE from Delta Airlines...

You can put in all required info, where your passing through and it gives you all the rules and regulations of the country visiting, passing through, and arrivals etc.

Though I do not advocate taking the Tica out of CR it simply does not work... past expierience talking here. :roll:

I have heard France but did not verify.

But thats just what some chica said.

I personally never really get more 11 blocks away from the Del Rey.

Hell, I didn't even know they had beaches here until I saw em on the TV.

Also, no passport is needed for central american countries because of various treaties. But only if they are crossing by land, air it's a different story.

Do you know this for a fact? I heard it's the same no matter what mode of transportation you use. Logically, it makes sense, why would by air be different?

The Delta site says a Costa Rican does not need a visa for other central american countries with the exception of Nicaragua. It does not differentiate between air and land crossing but since the site is from Delta airlines I would think the inference can logically be taken that they are not concerned with land crossings.

It appears visa on arrival for all of Central America and most of South America but passport and cedula is required for all of 'em?

Any idea how long it takes a Tica to get a passport? Where and how much?

I am confused re some posts say no passport. Do they mean no visa......... or no passport.............. or cedula only?

getting a passport is a relatively easy affair. It shouldn't take more than a month or two...

Getting a US visa on the other hand...

In general though, taking a tica out of T******* is BOUND to lead to disappointment on both ends...

Unless she knows how to travel.

I found this out because I made friends with a Panamanian girl who came to visit me. Her passport was expired, and she told me about some treaty that allows land crossings with only a cedula. The same was true of CR and other Central American countries.

I know for a fact that she came by bus, without passport.

A great place to take a Tica who has a passport but does not need a visa is San Andres island which is the property of Colombia. The La Nacion has ads for cheap 3 and 4 day trips. Stay at Maryland or Aquarium but not San Louis.

A year ago, it was like $300/person for 3 nights including airfare. Now, with that little oil price problem, it probably went up.
