Paco,

I am not sure of the Morazon's Business Model, but it differs from that of the HDR.

The location, location, and location. The lower rates, the seedier Casa Blanca Ambiance, layed back relaxed OK attitude, and all those Chinos playing in the Casino tells me they may have a formula.

Now, the Balmoral Hotel on Ave. Central across and to the right of the Presidente with the ground floor open air restaurant is another unique biz model.

The Europa too has some great potential except for the location. A little far from the Gulch but for sure 50/50 from the true ground Zero. Their Demographic influence factor is it is within everything within 2 to 5 Kilos of all the places in downtown district.

So many places to enjoy in SJO all in a very compact zone

There are also very spectacular new hotels developing in SJO. The FreeBird, Vista linda in Calles Blancas, and a couple of long term rental prospects in the outer bands of the downtown district.

The new openings in Barrio Amon are also very exciting for SJO offering mature tourists and those with a mature attitude toward the many wonderous experiences in the beloved country of Costa Rida.

The Casa Conde is a great condo experience with two bedrooms, full kitchen including over under dryer washer, big TV, living room, dining area DVD and high speed cable on request otherwise its wireless.

Great pool and restaurant. I visited with my mujer and the K*ds, one of which is my son of 6. The Soccer Team Los Murados eats their pre-game meals in the restaurant. We bought a ball at the nearby WalMart in CR store and purple Sharpee and everyone of the players was very happy to sign it for my son while I took Pics.

We of course being respectful of their pre-game preperation, waited patiently outside the restaurant with ball, pen, mom, and dad. Los Morados did win that night, and I don't know about you, but if I was a pro-athelete I would sign anything as I was boarding the bus to go play my game.

I would breath in and breath out with pride & emotion and go forward to play out my heart with accompaning soul. Leaving everything on the field, taking nor asking for less. Only that I knew I could & would play at that glorious level, once.

Having a little K*D ask me for my autograph as I was boarding that bus to the stadium would create a pre-game endorphine high and I would win the contest on that night.

Back to point, SJO has it all (frinedly adventuresome accomodations) no matter what you are looking for.

Yes they have a formula and it's obviously "good enough" for them I was just saying if they became competitive with say the Presidente's biz model and update the smelly dirty rooms, stop losing reservations, actually get a reservation system in place, fix the elevator and buy Ricky Ricardo a clean shirt (or just fire him) the place would stay full and the improvements would quickly pay off.

I think some of your comments are a bit dated. There has been some remodeling accomplished, the lost reservations appear to be a thing of the past, many of the Chinese paigow players have moved over to the horseshoe, the restaurant has been moved to the second floor away from the casino smoke and the last time I saw Ricky, a week ago, his shirt was clean. They have recently raised the rate to $45.00 and seem to e full most nights.

All in all I think there business plan is sound and it is still the best deal around if you want to be in the heart of the gulch.

I walked into the Morazon on July 4 and checked into Room 501. Nice room with a balcony, king bed and LG television. Rickey R took my bags up to the room and I had to pay 3 dollars to get him out. He gave me the wrong remote control, so I had to make another trip down to get an LG remote and it worked for the rest of my stay. Was able to check in about 10 am. Paid $88 per night with tax. The wouldn't cash my travelers checks. My last 2 trips have been at the Morazon and I really like staying there. The room is pretty nice and it's just like staying at the Del Rey as far as location is concerned with no chica fee. Unlike my Dec. 2007 trip, the elevator worked the entire time. There is actually a little customer service at the hotel. There's plenty of places to eat nearby

I assume you are using these contacts:

info@costaricamorzan.com

011-506-2222-4622

if so keep trying. They occasionally do not answer the phone but I have always gotten through, on the 3 or 4 try, if I dial every few minutes.

OK, I got through.

The coupon in Tico Times if no longer accepted.

Then the only room that is 45 is the standard.

anything else is 90 or 105

Taking a pass on this one.

I had a friend that just left there today after spending 10 days there. The $45.00 included tax and a full breakfast. Now he is a long time client and not sure that is the normal rate but if it is $45.00 all in it still a hell of a deal.

10 Days at the Morazon is like early release for good behavior in my opinion. YMMV

You might have mis-typed the address. I don't know this for sure, but based on the hotel name, try:

info@costaricamorazon.com
