Yesterday evening, my friend and I ate at the restaurant on the 17th floor of the Holiday Inn. The next morning, my friend had realized he had forgotten his umbrella when we left the restaurant the night before. Walking back to the Castillo from the Del Rey this evening, my friend suggested we stop by the Holiday to see if the umbrella was in the "lost and found." I told him it was a "long shot," :? but we'd try. Sure enough, they had the umbrella and were saving it for him. :)

By the way.....this was the first time I had ever eaten at the Holiday Inn restaurant........a fantastic view of San Jose from the 17th floor.

So everyone knows you can get the "view" by going to the casino (same floor I believe) and have a drink at the bar. The view is very good.

In my opinion, the food was good and reasonably priced....worth getting a meal there just for the incredible view.

The casino closed? Well.... the time I was up there no one was playing period! So... I guess I am not too surprized.

Thanks, will have to give it a try, I know the view is spectacular. Do you know if they're open for lunch?

Damn Zebra, I just spent 30 miutes researching your question and finally called them.

Yes, the restaurant opens at 7 am and serves until midnight. Due to a poor Skype connection I wasn't able to get the question I really wanted answered which was -Do you still have the buffet at lunchtime?

About a year ago someone posted about the lunch they had at the Holiday Aurora. I could not find the post, I skimmed all the way back to Oct of '06 but no luck. I recall it being either a buffet or pre fix at about $10. It was a positive review I recall.

Hey Greengo, go by and check it out and give us a report, I'll reimburse you the cost for one persona no alcohol included :)

Well since the original question has been answered, I guess this thread can be hijacked without the "Troll Police" busting my cajones.

Triple FFF, welcome back amigo :) As for the PHD, hell I feel like I'm still working on my diploma from Devry  May our trails cross again in the near future.
