Post subject: Does CR have a bus pass?
PostPosted: Mon Jul 21, 2008 2:53 pm
So, living in NY, and Denver I've seen people with monthly bus passes that let them go everywhere for a fixed price.

Does such a thing exist in CR?

I've only been on 2 buses there, and each time I paid my 525, or whatever it was in colones.

Only bus passes I have ever seen in Costa Rica are those issued by the Social Security (CAJA) to senior citizens who are enrolled with them. They receive 20 per month and are entitled to ride free within the greater metropolitan area (GMA) and at a discount to points outside that.

Thanks ID...

I'm still hoping that something like this exists, so if anyone knows anything about this...

Maybe a student buss pass?

I don't know...

As cheap as buses are here, I don't see the point, for a gringo at least.

Before I bought a car I rode buses everywhere. Every student I ever saw board the bus payed the full fare. That's not to say definitely that they do not exist but I would doubt there existence. Tico working families stay very attuned to whatever discounts they are entitled to and I doubt I would have seen so many students paying if passes were available.

I was looking at hiring some people, and had thought of offering a bus pass as a benefit, instead of paying them the extra x amount...

Yes, at least 1 of them is a her, but that WASN'T the point...

Thanks for the wiseass comment though! :)
and the information!

Let's do a cage match ID. Bring who you want. Pick 4 more. I'm bringing Paco and 3 Colombianos. We'll see who's standing after the shooting stops! :P  :P  :P
