Has anyone stayed in the Cheapest rooms at Hotel Freebird or Hotel Castillo, both are about the same price $42 for free bird and $44 for castillo, It looks nicer at freebird but you have to share a bathroom and no bar or restaurant in hotel. Any Suggestions? THANKS!

My personal preference is Freebird, hands down, but seeing as how you don't know CR that well, and Freebird really lends itself to knowing your way around, and having your things to do already setup, then I would suggest Castillo...

Also, Castillo is closer to ZB and NF...

Castillo is quiet confortable, low key and homey. Location is great too. Don't know about Freebird.

If you were CRT VIP the discount at Castillo would make it even cheaper.
I say it's time for you to ante-up & become a VIP! :D

If tou stay in the Castillo for a little over a week your membership would be paid for. That doesn't take into account all of the other discounts you get too. It will pay for itself in no time.

I have heard nothing but good things about Freebird since it opened, but have not stayed there. Hotel Castillo is my SJO accommodation of choice and my home away from home. Castillo does offer generous discounts for CRT members who pay with cash.
