I was in Panama City last month. Flew TACA which was great as usual but I would assume that COPA would also be good.

Stayed at las Vegas Hotel Suites. www.lasvegaspanama.com and was very satisfied. Close to everything and rate was $60.00 per night including taxes and room had a refrigerator, microwave, dishes but no coffee maker :cry:

. If you want breakfast add $4.00. Wireless internet in the room, business center with 4 PC's for use free and some good restaurants on premise.

Non-stop LACSA (TACA) flights from SJO to PTY are currently running $380 R/T including taxes and fees. COPA is a great airline, but at $800 R/T, LACSA is the way to go.

COPA and LACSA(TACA) are the only airlines that fly direct from SJO to PTY. All other flights involve going to mexico or the US first.

I typically found COPA to have the best prices, but the last few weeks it's been crazy.. really high price, not sure why.

Nature Air flys there but not to PTY.

Looks like they fly "Green Season" May 1 to Nov 30

From Pavas SYQ and many other CR locations to BOC-Bocas del Toro Panama, stopping in Limon. Sunday Monday Wednesday and Friday.

I got this from their website . Natureair.com

Looking at the map, Bocas del Toro is just over the CR border and a long way from PTY. But I guess if you need to leave the country for 3 days, this is an option.

Air Panama is far cheaper but are turbo props and might take an extra 20 minutes. But for half the price I intend to fly them next time if Copa or Taca do not have a deal.
