Hey guys...I'm all for diving into the books and tapes before I head down, but I'm not going to be anywhere near fluent in the next few weeks.

I can't imagine Rosetta Stone tapes helping me with "Will you swallow my leche?". Or the English/Spanish translation books including, "Do you like having your pu*sy licked?"

Since the original premise of this string of posts was the creation of an interview checklist so to speak, I was merely trying to add a few things to what appears to a useful approach to at least some. In my mongering experience, I have to agree that it is better to pre-negotiate everything...those that don't like that approach won't generally pass muster anyway...those that don't mind that line of questioning (and correctly answering) are the ones I want to be spending my time and money with...it's not a romance novel after all. Obviously, mixed in with a little charm and humor, that goes without saying.

So, I promise to be studious and learn more spanish, but all the same...will you erudite students of the spanish language help me out here with my few brief translation requests por favor? Muchas Gracias!

I also would like the translations. Especially how do you say "Do you like having your pus*y licked?" I also am trying to learn some spanish but with my first trip coming up on 2/13 I don't know how good I will be by then.

What is the best way to ask the tica her age? Or better said what is the method of finding out her age.

Look on the back of her cedula if she is a tica. When we check in my hotel, I always put on the reading glasses to see her real name and year of birth.

Quantos anos, usted? For age.You can also use "tu" in place of usted if you think you are more familiar with her.But usted is more respectful. And that means more in CR than it does in Mexico. All this is available on any Spanish learning program.Regarding licking the pu*sy, you are getting into alot of slang. So I use a very informal sentence structure. In Mexico the slang word would be chucha. In CR panocha usually works.
Gusta chompe tu panocha?

All you Spanish experts feel free to jump in, but that works for me.

MrV – These a more grammatically correct version of what you are trying to said;

Cuantos aňos tienes? – How old are you?

Me permites chupar su panocha? – Can I eat your pu*sy?

I think I would say "Cuantos anos tiene usted?," if I were to use that form.

While I'm hardly an expert, I've made some observations about the use of 'tu' and 'usted' in CR. In my experience MrLasVegas is correct in that the familiar form is not used in CR nearly to the extent that we see it elsewhere, even amongst family members. I was quite surprised to learn that.
They say 'when in Rome....", but I've chosen to use the 'familiar' form with Ticas. It is not at all offensive, they reciprocate by using 'Tu' with you, and as for as being 'familiar' with someone, having a dick in thier mouth and a hand up thier snatch is about as familiar as you can get.

Guys, you are over thinking the Spanish language. I speak, read and write fluent Spanish. Although, the use of 'tu' or 'usted' can be added at the end, the whole purpose of the exercise is to make it simple for the speaker. Also, you are trying to get a more affectionate and informal conversational style with the chicas. The use of “usted” is overkill. You know, KISS.

This is correct. The use of the usted isn't necessary as the "tienes" in itself assumes you are speaking to that person. A group of 5 or six chicas then usted could be used to clarify who should answer.

so, (Cuantos aňos tienes? – How old are you?) is accurate. Actually even dropping the (s) in cuantos would be ok. i.e Cuanto anos tienes?

Remember there is a difference between correct english grammar and the way we all speak. Ergo, the less you sound like a gringo trying to speak "by the book" the better because it is noticable. But the only way to remedy that is exposure.

So kudos to all members learnng spanish but be careful not to sound so proper you come off as a stiff. Cool? Cool.... 8)

Cujo
