Well this has become quite an interesting discussion. I got my dose of reality - and doesn't reality suck sometimes!

I have certainly learned to appreciate latina women - even from an HDR working girl - certainly as much( or maybe more) as the American woman who grants sexual favors in exchange for a pleasant time and nice dinner and drinks

I must disagree.

Yes, some women are traumatized by the decision to sell their assets. Those are women who are raised to believe that their pu*sy is for marriage only.

I've known several women who saw things differently. They started in P4P as a business endeavor, and looked it at solely as that. Maybe they were deluding themselves, but i got the honest impression that they had their head screwed on very well about the whole thing.

I mean, does a man lose his soul for paying for it? Lol, i'm sure some would say yes, but I don't think so. It does change us, but is it for the worse?

The attitude of sex is very different in costa rica, especially among the younger generation. Men are assumed, and even expected to have mistresses, even if they are not well off. And it's more or less the rule rather than the exception that novios are sleeping around. A tico friend of mine recieved "marriage advice" from a cop (at a traffic stop no less) in which he explained how to have a mistress and a wife.

I do think that women that are puta's as a career become jaded and lose all respect for men (not that they probably had much to begin with), but a girl that goes into it with her eyes open is probably not as "damaged" as a gringa would be.

And worse...someday they may truly fall in love with a guy...and what a muck-up that'll be.

There is so much truth in this statement. Less than 1% of all women in Costa Rica are willing to sell their body for money. Lots of women in this country deal with poverty different ways. Some rely on their novio/esposo who brings home the bread, while she takes care of the K*ds. Some wake up everyday and go to work, for meager wages, but they live comfortably. Some every find wealthy sugar daddies - both tico and gringo. Very few women are able to make the psychological switch to prostitution.

Once they cross that line, THEY ARE CHANGED FOREVER. This doesn't mean that all of them are bad people and I'm sure a few are good people. I'd be willing to bet that the percentage of bad, IS MUCH HIGHER than the percentage of good. Just look at how many of them are thieves and liars. Is this a trait that you want to spend a lot of time with??? They are almost all immature, uneducated... but you got give them credit for their acting skills.

For people spending more time down here. I STILL CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY SO MANY PROMOTE THESE CHICAS TO NOVIAS!!! There is a lot of hot latinas in this country that would never sell their bodies for money. All it takes is some time, some risk and some character.

I mean seriously.... do you want your novia knowing that she has had about 10 miles of random C*ck in her???? Do you understand what that does to her mentally? Do you want to deal with all of her phucked up issues? Do you want to support her family? Do you realize she probably has several novios sending her money?

Finally, do you enjoy sampling her man-chowder along with fine wine? A good chunk of these chicas bang their "novios" bareback. Take a look around the HDR at all the gringos. Do you want to follow that guy???

Chi-T, you remind of the old commercial “Taste Great – Less Filling” argument. As both sides scream louder and louder, neither one can be heard. Any attempt on your part or anybody else on trying to change their mind or advised them to do otherwise will always die out by arguments like, she is unique, she is really honest and she cry on my shoulders, etc. There is enough information on this forum to actually write a bible for whatever side of the argument you find yourself on. Unfortunately it have not changed anyone’s mind, since we all feel that we are singling unique to find that special P4P.

Those looking for “novias” in CR, the “Taste Great” crowd, are laugh at and ridicule by many of us, “Less Filling” crowd. Yes, I am one of those making fun of them. But, I feel that they do have a right to go out and pursue their novias. I do admire the chase of that impossible dream. If that dream becomes reality, then the rewards are great. If not, even at that they have achieved a greater understanding and a deeper relationship that you, Less Filling crowd and I will ever understand. I do not want to argue if that is a good think or not, it is their decision and their adventure.

The “Novia and Rules of Engagement” section is one of the first areas that I read every morning. I think that we, the Less Filling crowd, will reserve the right to pull our chairs and watch the show. And it is a mighty electrifying saga that these poor souls go through. So, please, move out of the way, you are obstructing the view. The poor fellows are about to stand on the rails and the train is always on time. Pull a chair and do not let the splash hit you.
