July 4 is a USA holiday; it is not a holiday here nor anywhere else in the world. It is just another day here. The only celebrations will be small groups of expatriats and CRT members that are here. Read the other threads here concerning July4 activities

The American Colony will hold there annual (well almost annual) on Friday July 4 celebration on the grounds of the cerveceria which is located just off the airport auto pista. Admission is 2000 colones and you must show your passport for admittance.

Post 16 of the American legion will hold their picnic on Sunday July 6 at La Cueva in Alajuela. Admission is 4500 colones and all, U.S., Tico, Nica, etc. are welcome. No passport required.

Neither will have fireworks
