Orange the first story i think you seriously over reacted on. The dude said you didn't have to pay, so what the heck? Why slam his door like that? That is his bread and butter, his vehicle.

Second story, i understand complety. I've had them shove those coins back in my hand and what not. If they do that to me, i'll just throw the shit back at their face. I'm not afraid of these assholes...i've got serious connections around town so it's all good.

Recently, visitors flying into the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport have been frustrated by devout Muslim cab drivers, mostly from Somalia and/or Sudan who refuse:

a.) To permit blind passengers with dog guides to enter their cabs.
b.) To transport anyone carrying alcoholic beverages, even if the bottles are sealed and in an opaque bag
c.) Carry passengers who are carrying pork products, pet dogs in cages and,
d.) Unescorted women.

Gotta love it. So this blind woman I know has a pound of pork chops and a six pack.... oh never mind.

EC, The Taxi Commision should clamp down on the Muslim taxi drivers who discriminate. Just my humble opinion.

Your first example sounds to me like the language barrier is what caused the problem. I understand your frustration but let me ask, how is your Spanish? Remember, you’re in their country…….. As for the driver not taking your money? I thought that was nice of him, he could have charged you something being that the price of gasoline has gone through the roof. In my opinion I think the guy just got frustrated and thought, “fu&*k it”. Your second example sounded like it really wasn’t worth the driver’s time to take you to such a short distance and the tip proved it…….. For the most part I have had good luck with the taxi drivers in CR but I have had a few as**holes too. Just like in any profession, there are always a few who set a bad example.
