Wow, Jazzbo, you really are digging deep into the past with this thread! I had forgotten all about it. Too bad the poll closed over 4 years ago. It could be interesting to post a fresh one. Of course, the options would have to change radically since CRS is long since dead and probably predates most of the currently active members that are still around. In fact, that could be another poll: 1) came over from CRS, 2) heard of CRS but that was before my time, and 3) CRS? Whats that?

For this one the new options could be:
1) I'm one of the CRS originals
2) Heard of it from Don Gordo's site
3) Heard of it on ISG
4) Heard of it on other sex-tourism related site
5) Found it on search engine or heard of it through some non-monger site
6) Someone told me about off line.

Actually, now that I think about it, I find it interesting that some of the new responses indicate finding out from various chicas. I don't knpw how many options a poll allows but maybe some of the options above could be combined and #6 split up into a) found out from another monger (offline) and b) found out from a chica

When researching my first trip (and the Clam's second) I stumbled upon the legendary Don Gordo's website and it brought me here. Certainly one of the highlights of a down 2007. Thanks Don

internationalsexguide.info 's costa rica section was not as "happening" as I figured it would be. So, I googled and came upon CRT. Read for a bit, then bought and ticket to SJO and became a VIP member the same day. 5 days till I arrive, can't wait.

I found CRT from the old WSG... a couple of us who post here posted there as well (I was "Blind Lust" on WSG). I don't remember if it was Shamas or who, but somebody pointed me to both CRT and Don Gordo's site. !WQue suerte buena!

It was Shamas who first described certain aspects of SJ, including spot-on warnings about the condition of sidewalks, etc. He and a fellow calling himself Jaimito Cartero were extremely helpful, with step-by-step orientation to ZB, Bar Idem and other spots. I joined CRT about three weeks prior to my very first C.R. trip in 2004. I visited ZB to pick up my V.I.P. card and met the famous Wanda, formerly of NF and who briefly manned the front of the SL after leaving ZB. On my second visit to ZB, I met Admin 1, and the rest is as they say, history.

I'm sure there were others who were also on WSG that migrated here and who offered help in the past, but I cannot remember all of them. I'm pretty sure I corresponded with a few of you back then as well; forgive my forgetfulness.

I was going surfing in Playa Hermosa in Jan 2006. I Googled the hell out everything for a few weeks trying to find out where I can try to find cool places to meet women were at bars and too try and find better reviews on hotels than tripadvisor. I came across here, actually had to go to urbandictionary.com to look up the term "monger" and figured I would probably check out that Blue Zone place and that Hotel of the King. Nearly two and a half years later I went to Thailand, Rio five freaking times, the DR, Panama, Colombia, Argentina, Peru and even Costa Rica. So who is to blame ??? Not Don Gordo although we had some good laughs when I got to meet him.

There is one reason almost all of us could blame our spending and distraction s of constantly banging latinas...

I surely thought I posted a response when the thread came out originally. But, I used to read CRS alot, not sure if I ever posted there. Went to CR in July 2003 and met Pizzadude at the Prez. (he eventually changed to JimmyHead here on CRT.) and he turned me on to the site. I wasn't going to join but I really wanted to see the pics in the gallery. So, I forked over the dough. The rest is history.

Google when doing research abt CR in 2006. Found Don Gordo's site the same way.

Joined CRT before my first trip. Read all the posts that I could ahead of time and still acted like dumb ass gringo when I got there. Oh well some of us learn from reading about others mistakes and some of us are examples to others for what they should avoid.

My greatest surpirse has been the great gringo friends that I have been able to make as a result of being a member of CRT.

It been a VERY long time since I knew about CRT, so I don't remember for sure, BUT I think it was from WSG forums...

Fade to November, 2004. Bored and decided to Google serach for Adult Male Travel. Around Page 10, came across CRT, spent a little time reading and threw out a few questions....

Sluthog and Mucho Gusto were the 1st to respond,Slthog mentioning that he was spending the month of January 2005 in CR at the Sportsmens Lodge and invited me down to show me around..

Did not take long to book a trip for January 7th 2005 for a week of fun. With a great wingman...Needless to say 19 trips later.....

I googled Costa Rica Strip clubs. The most interesting thing I saw was
a e-book by Chuck Green. I didnt really know about CR...I was just going surfing. After I read the book...well then I knew Id be doing more than surfing LOL! I found a link in the book to CRT.

hmm. A friend told me about CR. Ask me to make a quick trip with him. (Was his 2nd trip) Once there, he had a family emergency and left. Hanging around HDR, I met a few guys who took me to IDEM. After a few drinks I learn about CRT. Join before my next trip. Funny thing is my friend doesn’t come to CR any more.
