Thanks for the heads up, it looks like they go in to September. I checked Labor Day weekend, it's $378 with taxes.

Do you know if we can shift the days a little once it's booked?

Good price, but you have to connect in Atlanta. Talk about out of the way.

Anyone know how Atlanta Customs are?

I have flown through ATL returning from Heathrow and CDG a few times and never had any difficulties. Have never returned from Carribbean/Central America through there.

Something is fishy there. I checked 3 hours ago, and there were a ton of flights for $356, suddenly they're all gone. If you do the +/- 1 day thing it shows you that there's $356 lowest fares, but when you go to that day, it's full price.

Touche, mi amigo

Archie, I do not believe you can adjust these particular tickets. Classed as "U" tickets but you can always inquire. Hope the dinner party goes well tomorrow night  [/b]

Where are you finding those fares? They're not showing up in the standard booking.

Sales may last for days or HOURS. The latter is usually the case.

ATL isn't too bad for flying in or out of but you have to know the routine and the layout.

The immigration/customs areas are large but you have to go downstairs to get your bags once you've cleared immigration. Here's a note, there are restrooms UNDER the escalators that takes you to baggage claim. Many don't know about these.

Anyway, as you come down the escalator there will be a board with your flight number telling you which baggage carousel will have your luggage. Wait for it (and wait some more) then go back toward the escalators and around to your left to the customs area. Turn in your bag for your connecting flight then you must go through security AGAIN before you can continue to your next flight.

You'll arrive in the E concourse but your flight could be leaving from A, B, C, D, E or T. You'll have to get on the train that will take you to your connecting concourse. I suggest printing a map before you go.

Allow at least 1 1/2 hours if you are making a connection and coming in from another country. 2 hours might be even better.

Good Luck

DasGerman,

Check farecompare.com

I noticed this morning that the fares are back up to the mid $400's

It sucks when Delta does those 1 day sales unless you're prepared to book immediately. My fare dropped 200 bucks a while back so I jumped on it and booked a few trips, while I was booking the last one it jumped up 50.00 so I called Delta and she said seats must be selling so the price goes up. :? But then that her computer still showed the sale price, I bought it anyway and when I got to the payment page it was the sale price, go figure. Then the sale went on for about 30 days anyway so I rushed for nada, you just never know. I thought Delta DFW had a nonstop to SJO? Maybe I'm thinking of AA...

With Delta you can book it and have 24 hrs. to cancel no charge, if you want to grab a deal while it's hot and think about it.

Better jump on these specials if you can. I think the days of cheap oil are gone & we will see a steady increase in travel costs thru our remaining years. The good thing about the higher costs of travel is there will be less mongers around.
