I love farecompare.com!

I have several destinations where they update me whenever the price goes down. today MIA to SJO dropped $110 to $198. this is the same service I used last year to get a flight from MIA to $108!

If you don't know about fare compare, they have this little option to "research fares," where you tell it where you are coming from and going to and it will show you the best rates for the next 12 months, then you can select the month you want and it will show you the best rates for each day of that month. then you can see all the flights for that day.

When you setup a free account, you can have it contact you ever time the price significantly drops, which it did today. MIA to MDE also came down to $506!

Thanks for the heads up Ddream. Actually you can get Mia-Mde on Avianca for $416 but one leg of the trip you have 1 stop. You guys in Florida can get to PTY,MDE,CTG, and SJO in 3 or less hours.(what a problem to have)

It says NYC-MDE is $389, but then it comes to $675 with taxes. Are taxes really $280?

Or is that the bait and switch method at work?

I just booked tickets today with AA, for the 1st week of July - From Miami to Liberia. The fare was $318 and the taxes were $307.70, for a total of $625.70 per person! The phucking taxes are ridiculous!!! :x

Actually, I'm in nashville now and will be going to the chicago area and won't be back in FLA until november now, but I still watch the fares. I won't be getting any $200 fares for some time now. still, chicago isn't too bad of a fare!

It includes a fuel surcharge on the ticket price. Usually about 25% or 35% of the ticket price.
