I guess me and phoenix rising finaly agree on something.

Somewhere along the line, in our species, in our evolution, got it in our heads that we were supposed to be monogamous. I understand from a societal standpoint, we are better off living together as a community if we aren't going around banging each other's wives... But to do this we need to make a conscious, willful decision to keep the impulses of the BEAST within under control. Christianity picked up on this and has taken it further, and it has become a "self evident" truth that to be the best human or more Christ-like you choose a partner and remain faithful your entire life. Our animal nature has always flew in the face of this dogma and speaking personally, it has always been my biggest problem with the Church. And "To death do you part" was a workable concept when the live expectancy was 40 years old! Part of the problem is we are living long enough to get bored with our partners. I had a pretty good marriage...eventually we didn't want to Phuck each other anymore....oh well....so what do you do, live without sex the rest of your life?

There are many in the animal kingdom who mate for life, but still play around on the side. Many kinds of penguins, for instance. It's easy to find someone to Phuck, it's very difficult to find someone you can live with that doesn't drive you bat-shit crazy.
