I booked the room though Nixon. How do I make sure there isnt going to be a tica fee? Is there a procedure? I have never stayed there before so this is new. I looked at all the other posts on this topic and none stated how to avoid the fee except by booking through Nixon.

The times I booked the Clarion through Nixon, his emails always said, "..and of course, no chica fee." If his confirming email didn't say this, I would, if I were you, ask for confirmation. Then print out the confirming email. That should do it.

They called me to the desk, I explained I booked thru Nixon and they said, go right ahead sir, no fee.

If you booked through Nixon it should be straight. I did and they never hassled me about a chica fee, although they claimed there were some int'l phone calls which I had not made and were removed from my bill.

Do people even check in the Chica at the desk at the clarion. There is usually not much people around that you could walk straight to the elevator or take the stairs to the left and avoid the desk altogheth.

I stayed there about a month ago for the first time. I had to check a my chica in each every time, but there was no chica fee as I booked the room through Nixon. Its a pretty painless process and the people at the desk are quite friendly.
