OK, first off I apologize for authoring the ball-shaving thread, especially to you Florida, because it clearly drove you insane. Secondly, I apologize for starting yet another shaving thread, and the reasons for doing so are ridiculous, but I've seen pictures of the women that some of you have had sex with, and I know that you're no strangers to the ridiculous. That being said, now I have something that I have to get off my chest, as it were.

OK, it all started innocently enough yesterday, when as a requirement for obtaining corporate Key-Man insurance I had to go to the cardiologist to get my heart examined (fortunately no one asked me to have my head examined) I went into the office as innocent as lamb, full of the promise of glad tidings, knowing my health to be good. Ah, those bittersweet memories of a youth forgotten. Anyway, having gone into the office, after having the damn appointment rescheduled 3 times , I was happy and optimistic about my experience to be had on this occasion, as everything proceeded as scheduled. I was the last of my colleagues to have to go for an examination, and all of them had told me about the stress test, and the lovely nurses who had guided them through it, and joy was had by all. I went in for my examination , and was greeted by my latin nurse. His name was Armando. Urgh. This hadn’t begun well. Armando, being the consummate professional that he is, explained that he would need to place 10 electrodes about my chest in order to measure the response. No problem! “Do you mind if I shave your chest”, he murmured, in a way that wasn’t at all sexy, I’ll have you know, to which I replied “Gadzooks!” (well, not exactly that, but something to that effect) and in the following sentence I let him know that no, I didn’t particularly want my chest shaved. “Too bad” he said, “It was a rhetorical question, because although you aren’t exactly the hairiest man it has ever been my pleasure to encounter, still you have too much hair for these electrodes to stick properly, and so shave I must, blessed be my soul” (OK, not exactly that, but pretty close)

So, Off Armando went, gaily shaving and caressing my chest in way that once again wasn’t even remotely sexy, but only in the spots where he would be placing the attachments. We did the test, and I stepped off the treadmill and looked at myself in the mirror. Armando chuckled and said “That truly looks terrible, but you could always wax the rest off, or you can wait and it will grow back.” Thank you, Armando. I couldn’t help but chuckle and agree, however ruefully. At least I was informed that I have the heart of a lion, and shouldn’t hesitate to bang chicas 3-4 at a time, while laughing evilly. (well, not exactly, but close enough)

Now, I have a problem. I look like a spotted owl. I’m going to Colombia and Peru next month and I have no idea how fast my hair will grow out, never having shaved my chest before. I’m only moderately hairy, but the affected regions are very distinct. I could opt to shave or wax it, but my arms and legs are hairy in equal measures, and I figure that I’d look like a buffoon if I shaved just my chest. I have no appetite for shaving my entire body, and having an all over body stubble. I’m not sure that I’m tough enough to have my whole body waxed, but I know for damn sure that I don’t want to be the patchwork gringo that all the chicas are laughing about for months afterwards. I have no idea how fast the hair will grow back, and whether I can just trim everything down to a level height or not, without looking dumb.

I turn to you, my revered brethren, for guidance and support. Who can deliver me from my awful fate? Who can lead me to the door into summer? HELP! I feel like a complete idiot at the moment. Anybody have any suggestions around body shaving in general, or solutions to my particular problem? Laugh, jest if you will, but my plight is such that I will endure your ridicule if only to avoid the mocking gazes of the chicas that will make me die inside. I am at your collective mercies.

My chest hair is rather thin and I have only minimal hair on my stomach and no back hair...so my experience might be different from yours.

Generally I do shave my chest because I have found the ladies to prefer that smooth look - but it sounds as if you did the same, you'd have that primate look.

My chest hair grows pretty quickly, in fact I shaved about three to four days ago, and it is already about 3/32 of an inch long. I also take prenatal vitamins and Biotin, which really seems to have accellerated my hair growth all over.

I think if I were you, I'd get a pair if electric clippers and trim your hair length down on your chest so the patches are not as obvious, then try to gradate the length longer as you work your way out from the scene of the crime.

good luck.

Why do you take prenatal vitamins?
Did you get knocked up in San Jose?

Biotin? Pre-natal vitamins? Do you take these specifically to speed hair growth, and are they easily available? I don't know anything at all about them.

You have seen the movie 40 year old virgin???? Go for the smiley face look on your chest, girls will love it while engaged in sexually activity. You will have them laughing the whole time.

lol.

I've got half the smiley face now. I've got two circles between my nipples, a broad swath under the left nipple and a smaller one under the right nipple, with a circle on my upper chest.

Actually, I just looked at it again, and it kind of looks like a handlebar mustache with eyes.

I have been trying to grow my hair out faster - after a coloring incident gone bad followed by a very short haircut; that is why I've been taking the prenatals and the Biotin...on the advice of a pharmacist. I have seen a noticable difference in only a sort period of time. Both are available at just about any pharmacy or probably grocery stores too.

Shadowman,

I feel your pain. I also have a small shaved spot on my chest from an ECG about 10 days ago. The good news is it is already less noticeable. I would bet that over 4 weeks (if you have that long) it will be hardly noticeable.

Anyway, good luck and let us know what you do and how it works out.

QM

YO Chesty:

Unless you are a gorilla the chest hair and shaved spots will blend in fine if you're talking another 4 or 5 weeks. Old Circus has a lot of chest hair and has been through that procedure several times. You can also blend it in with an electric razor by that time. Besides, this is small change to yjr big picture. Hell, if it was me I'd try and find a girl with a hairy chest and spot shave her.

OR, you could do what this fellow did. In fact....I believe this was L-Heat's wing man at Jaco several years ago.

Well, what you guys are telling is encouraging, and I'm glad to hear that it should grow out well enough in that period of time to be less noticeable. Circus, that picture is hysterical. Poor guy must have been drunk out of mind or he lost a bet. lol. If I tried to do the chest hair bra then my bra would have holes in it and I'd be arrested for indecent exposure!

I also see that some of you guys are advocating the whole smooth chest thing. I've never considered chest shaving before, and it never really came up in my life so far. Do the chicas react favourably to it? No one has ever complained about the hair on my chest before, but then, I wouldn't expect them to. Do the guys here who shave/wax their chest regularly do the rest of their body as well? Seems like a lot of work, but if you're at all hairy I can't see just doing the chest and not doing the rest of your body too.

Until a couple of years ago I never considered ball-shaving either, but hey, that turned out well. Maybe I'll learn something here! :)

I do not know about the prenatal vitamins but biotin does work. I started taking it about 4 months ago. It seems to thicken your hair and it does make it grow faster. Believe it or not my 82 year old mother was taking it as her hair began to thin and swears by it. I tried it and can also see results. It doies take about 3 to 4 weeks to get results and you must take it diligently.
