I hope nobody's got a flight on AA today -

Airline cancels 200 flights for inspections
Florida Today

American Airlines canceled about 200 flights, less than 10 percent of the biggest U.S. airline’s scheduled service, on Wednesday so its crews can inspect some wire bundles aboard its MD-80 aircraft. The need for the new inspections became known during an audit of American by a joint team of inspectors from the Federal Aviation Administration and the Fort Worth-based airline, according to a statement from American.

“We are reinspecting the MD-80s to make sure the wiring is installed and secured exactly according to the directive,” American spokesman Tim Wagner said in the statement, which did not describe the function of the wiring. “We are in the process of completing the inspections on the remaining airplanes and will return them to service on a rolling basis throughout the day,” Wagner said. About 50 departures each were canceled at American’s hubs at Dallas-Fort Worth and Chicago O’Hare international airports.

Could be a problem for people taking AA to a gateway to SJO, but the international segments don't use the MD80s that are being grounded. AA flies 757s from LAX /DFW to SJO, Airbus 300s from MIA to SJO and 737s from FLL to SJO.

Still a good heads up as most people flying AA to SJO probably have at least one domestic segment and it's most likely on a MD80.

I'm coming in Saturday morning on a redeye from LAX.. now I just have to figure out what to do at 5:30 in the morning...

1. Go to HDR
2. Find a chica
3. Negotiate a price
4. Take her to a "short-time" hotel
5. Shower
6. Screw her brains out
7. Shower again
8. Go get breakfast

How's that?

Yea I have the same prb in that I leave March 31 at 1045pm and get into CR at 520am! I have no idea what im going to do! MY hotel is near the airport (Marriott) but im sure im going to get BS about checking in early or they will try and charge me a extra night. I figure I can eat some breakfast when I get there but if I can't check in until 3 or so I might just do a tour the first night come back rest up and bone at night...

Checking in early probably won't be possible.. it will depend on if they have an available and ready room, your status if any with Marriott, how they feel that morning, etc.. but they will certainly store your bags until after 3:00.

I haven't been to CR before, so I don't know about the logistics of getting from the Marriott to HDR, but I'm sure the taxi driver knows the way and you can follow Mucho Gusto's advice from there.

I'm still need to pick a hotel and make the reservations.. I'm always last minute on my travel arrangements.
