Been getting a few PM's lately from guys new to the board who aren't aware of how to access the San Jose monger's map. Thus:

Go to the CRT homepage (https://costaricaticas.com/) and log on as a VIP. You'll then see a link that says "San Jose Map" in the left hand panel where you logged in. It's that easy.

The map was originally formatted for 8-1/2" x 14" legal-size paper, but seems to be defaulting to an 8-1/2" x 11" image when printed from the web - resulting in very small print. Maybe Admin1 can address this (and possibly make this thread a sticky as well...)

Note that another update is in progress to bring things up to date, aided by my special "agents on the ground" RBC100 and Phoenix Rising. I'm also adding in new sections for Ipanema, Copa, and Centro (just kidding.. )

Check back in another month or so and the latest edition should be available. In the meantime, if anyone has any suggestions on how to make it more user friendly or would like to submit additional items to include, let me know...

GR,

Your map is amazing. I use it as my only SJ map.

I did however alter it because of the small print issue you mentioned. I will PM or email you my version to see the difference. There may be an idea that you want to incorporate into the way yours prints off. But mine was also altered based on my personal preferences and where I thought I would be going and where I wouldn't. I did have to make several copies for other members who were down there and wanted to use it too, but I always credited you with the map, not me.

Mine is formatted to be printed off double-sided on 8.5X11. I have the actual map on one side and the ancillary information on the other side. It's perfectly readable at 8.5X11 in this format, zoomed and cropped slightly. I did all that in Photoshop and then also made Bitmap versions to print.

I'll email or PM them to you if you want.

Totally agree, the map is awesome. Mine printed on standard 8.5x11 with no problems. To those of you not VIP Members yet, I highly recommend it. I know it wil greatly enhance my trip next month to CR along with the various CRT VIP discounts that are available.

Great map, I took it everywhere. A couple suggestions for the update; Nightclub Nicole and Hotel Freebird.

I have to agree with everyone else. There were few things I made sure to carry with me everywhere in SJ. My room key, a copy of my passport, & your map. I even used it as a way to help the taxi drivers get where I wanted to go. I plan on using it as long as I am going to CR. Which at this point means until I am on my death bed.

For some reason, these directions are not working for me.

Obviously I'm a VIP member (I hope this shows up on my ID)

Could somebody PM me a link?

Also, I'm feeling frustrated because I can't find the VIP photo gallery.

Again, can I get a link?

Just a thought -- I'm assuming my regular password is the same as the one that gets me into the VIP posting area.

Or is there some other password I need that I haven't got?

Thanks in advance.

El Silencioso...I can't take it anymore! Everytime I come across a thread in which you have posted (and they are numeroous) for some reason my eyes start going back and forth, back and forth, till I finally snap out of it. That sway of that young lady you have should have a warning label/disclaimer on it!!!
