I think that I can provide a bit more info regarding the Gardens Gentlemens Club.

Here is the scheme for the guys:

Pay $1000/year & receive 3 meals/day/365 days. I believe there are plans to eventually offer lodging discounts & limo service to/from downtown (HDR) when available.

For las chicas:

Pay $300/year & receive 3 meals/day/365 days

For 2008 the fees are reduced to $500 & &100 for the remainder of the year.

The slot machines were an "all or nothing" proposition. There was never any intention to install all of them so their number is likely to be reduced.

Caveat: This is not official information! :?

I just left there. Gardens does not yet have a license for their slots and I do not know if they will get one or not. If not, that little venture is toast.

The back bar at gardens is starting to attract more chicas who hope to be affiliated with theh new mens club. That may be good. If chicas show up, guys will too. Marco the bartender is an asset.

The food remains no better than mediocre and the new club menu just raised food prices considerably. So, they need to get back to basics, such as food. Food value id not good at this point except for the brreakfast which is free to Castillo patrons.

As for the club, you get food and limo rides as far as I can see and a feeling that your ego is stoked. But SJ has a plethora of young chicas without having to pay for such a pricy membership.

If I ran the place I'd concentrate on getting chicas in the door with free food which they are doing. I'd have a good happy hour price which they are also doing. But, Somebody in the kitchen needs to learn the fundamentals of food preparation and the value of a good price charges for same.

The club aspect will only appeal to newbies and internet virgins who aren't well versed with all that SJ can offer in a value sense.

Please note that my commentary is balanced and not completely goring the ox.

For newbies, please note that I am referring to the Gardens Restaurant which is connected to Hotel Castillo. The Hotel, while only 25 steps away remains a great quiet, great value as a place to stay. But, the management of the two places is completely different.

As of Friday April 11th the slots were not operational. Tom said it will be little while yet. I don't know about a new bar being built, didn't see or hear anything.

Can you give us an estimate as to how many slot machines are still remaining in the Gardens? I think I remember reading a post where someone stated they had removed MOST of them.

In early April I saw that the machines were being cleaned up and maintenanced. There was even some semblance of supervision going on by some fellow from Panama? Maybe there is some truth to some of the stories that are being floated about?
I personally bought two of the machines to bring back to Texas with me. Got them for 10,000 colons each! I have found clients in the illegal gambling game rooms that we have in here in our beautiful city. I wish I could get the chicas here that easy. I would open my own New Fantasy/ Zona Blue to compete with the thousand or so Sexually Oriented Businesses located here in Houston?
