YO Ruskies:

Indeed there were several real hot Russian girls working the gulch @ 4 years ago. Does anyone remember the one that was 6' tall with blonde hair...geezzzz she had a bod.

It would be a change to have some more come in and churn the waters but I can tell you.....you don't want the Russian mafia around.

If the owners of this new casino determine that having chicas around the casino would be good for business, why the hell would they go through all the expense and agravation of bringing Russian girls to Costa Rica.(like bringing a sandwich to a banquet) Also why would they take the chance of being arrested for "pimping" by having ANYTHING to do with the providing of chicas for their players. They will make their money from gambling. They will be marketing their casino to people on vacation who like to gamble and have the company of a chica. It seems to me that these players would rather have Latinas in Latin America anyways.

Chriminey,, will you guys stop thinking with your penises??

We're *maybe* talking Russian Mafia here. If there's any truth to that, it will be a terrible thing for San Jose.

I have a nephew who was nearly beaten to death by some of these "businessmen." They are so vicious as to make the Colombian Mafia look like school crossing guards.

Be very careful what you wish for. :!:

VegasBob, the hot Russians are the lure for the clientele to gamble. Another casino in SJ with latinas doesn't differentiate themselves much. You throw in hot Russian platuinum blondes who give great service, forget it, the place is packed. Do you really think mongers in CR would pass up on these Russian delectables b/c they are non-latina? Plus, could help to give the "Cien Minded" Ticas & Colombianas a reality check and keep them honest....at siquenta.

As for El C. regarding the criminal element, you make a good point, well, that could mix up a balance although I do not know the underworld scene in SJ as it relates to casinos, whore houses, etc. Perhaps a good subject to "delve into wth intellectual discourse."

And the Russian mafia gets a bad rap, in my opinion. When I am "over there" I visit a few places with ties to organized crime. As a customer, you are simply that -- a customer -- and will usually be treated pretty well. They just want you to spend your money like you would anywhere else. A business competitor might be a different story, however. I'm not sure how the other casinos/hotels would react to that.

I think that describes the situation perfectly. When I lived in the New York area the mafia was never a concern to the average citizen. They may have controlled any number of industries that caused prices to be higher then they would have been without their presence but that was something you never really felt or thought about.

They controlled gambling and prostitution also and the average Joe never felt their presence in that either. Get in over your head debt from gambling and yes their presence was there. I really do not see their presence in San Jose, should they be part of the scene, with this new casino would be any different than the NY mafia in their area.

I do think one thing would most likely be a sure bet. If the Russian mafia was involved in the new casino you could walk in that area without any worry of being assaulted by street thugs. Unlike the owners of the HDR they would make sure the area around their operation was very very safe any time of day or night.

No offense to the Russian Mafia (никакое нарушение к российской Мафии) just in case they read this. You guys do not want the likes of these guys around, they are bad for business. Again, no offense. 8)

They're the Russian Mafia, they don't have rules to play by, they always do what they want to do without having to answer to anyone. This ain't Cosa Nostra you're dealing with here.

Since nobody has yet made this joke:

The casino owner's name is Vladamir Puta.

Okay, I said it.

Comparing who is worse to deal with the Russian Mafia or La Cosa Nostra is like comparing which is worse to face a 45 automatic or a 44 magnum revolver.

There is no difference they both will kill you very easily

Just heard a rumor, and that is one step down the accuracy scale from "word on the street", that the hotel the Russians are remodeling is in Escazu. The rumor is that they have taken over the Hotel San Gilder which is a higher end property on the old road to Santa Ana near the country club and the United States Ambassadors residence.

What makes the rumor somewhat credible is that the property is very close to the residence of that well known Escazu raconteur, bon vivant and man about town Vegas Bob
