Making my first trip next week, and have booked first couple of nights in the belly of the beast (HDR) and then moving to a Spa Suite at the Presidente for a few nights(I like bubbles and chicas, what the hey).

I tried to find out about availability at SL, but never had my inquiries answered for some reason :?:

Haven't seen too many mentions lately of the Prez, so just wondering if all the talk here about chica dress code policies means no more CRT'rs...I've got my plan in place to get past the the dress code...just drape a big ol football jersey over my skimpily dressed lady friends if need be. Guessing trying for a 3some at the Prez is going to take a little more imagination. Hoping to meet up with some fellow CRT'rs willing to give a few tips to a CR virgin.

Hi, I just got back from a trip and spent most of my time at the Presidente. I always enjoy my stay there, people are friendly and the service is great. I always find it very clean and the rooms smell great.

Regarding the dress code, most of the ladies at the Del Rey pack a change of cloths in their purse. Also I always bring a strech cover up that I bring in my suite case. I have not had to use it but have it just in case. The only policy that I don't like is the limit of one woman in the room. That can be resolved if you make friends in the resturant in the mornings. Get a room number and then call them to ok the visit. Then just bring her to your room. As long as your not a pig about it, you should be ok.

Enjoy your tip.

It's ashame things have changed at the Pres. I remember my first trip back in August 2000 and the Pres was THE PLACE to stay. I met my good friend NNS down there and back in those days you could have multi chicas in the room with you.

Some of my good buddies won't stay there anymore, from reasons to one chica, to the ever changing dress code, to the blackballing of certain chicas.

I would move, but have such great memories of the spa suite for 90 a night and the great fun I had in the jacuzzi with the chicas. I also have great memories of the other good times I have had there, especially one fiesta I had with two buddies and played pass the chicas between ourselves in the jacuzzi on the 8th floor.

Mr. Vargas has always treated me well, one time I had to cancel due to family illness, and cancelled on the day I was due in, and he cut me some slack and did not charge me the first nights fee. I have never had a chica turned away due to the dress code.

Unlike my buddy Squirrel88 who can adapt to anything, I tend to hold on to something I like. I like the spa suite.

So, yes, I would stay there in a heartbeat.

Now, if I had a chica turned away who was wearing decent clothes, or had a long time favorita blackballed, I could take my business elsewhere real fast, but this has not happened yet.

The Presidente is ALWAYS my first choice when coming to San Jose and I plan my trips based on room availability. Of course they've never denied access to any of my big-breasted dates.(knock on wood).

Thanks for the feedback guys...good to hear some positive remarks about the Prez. Looking forward to checking it out next week. Any tips on preferred rooms? I have a Grand Spa Suite booked...I've heard room 801 is pretty cool with the outdoor jacuzzi. Any other recommendations on specific rooms?

I try to always stay at The Presidente. I have had every type of room including the Presidential Suite which is phenomenal. Although my room was the one where friends had to go through to use the jacuzzi which meant everyone using my bathroom and toiletries, messing up my bed, etc.

I have has them turn away my favorita b/c she had on a gorgeous dress that was too short so we went back to her house and she changed. An inconvenience, yes, I believe the dress code to be over the top. Another time, a girl was with my friend and they wouldn't let her in, taxistas usually willl "rent or sell" pants out of their trunk and yes they will gouge, but, surprisingly he gave her a jacket for free and didn't even accept a tip.

As for The Presidente's blackballing policy, don't sweat it, it's for our protection.

PURA VIDA!

Unless you like noise at 6:00am, don't get a room that faces the street below. The windows do almost nothing to keep out the noise from the busy street below.

Really? If you need the dim wits at the Presidente to protect you, better just stay home. Or find a new mongering destination. There are several hotels that offer discounts to CRT members. We really, for the good of CRT, should be supporting these hotels.I told the staff at the Amistad last trip how much I appreciated them being CRT sponsors. I told them I would recommend them and stay there whenever I can. As we all should with all our sponsors. Presidente has made it clear what they think of us and our hobby. Why you guys are giving them a dime of your money is a complete mystery.

I'm at the Prez right now, in the middle of a 3-day stay, the only days I could get here out of a 19-day trip. It's always my first choice in SJ hotels. The junior suite I'm in seems larger than the other ones I've been in, and it's just $91 with the CRT discount. Yes, there may be a dress code and blacklist, but we do get a discount. This isn't the Balmoral. The Prez is plenty CRT-friendly for me.

Last I saw the Presidente is still a CRT VIP sponsor. Look below for the discounts. It isn't as good as it was back in 2000, but it is good enough for me. My favorite room is the spa suite, a huge room with a jacuzzi big enough for my fat ass and my DDD cup chica. Most of the chicas love being in the jacuzzi and when they love something, it makes for a better time with them.

For example the spa room is 33 bucks a night cheaper for CRT VIP's, which means if you stay 3 nights, you get the 4th night free, as compared to the rack rates.

So, keep on being mystified about why we give them our dimes, but I have never had such a nice room for 98 bucks a night.

RACK rates 2008
Standard room single or double $ 89+tax
Junior suite $ 125+tax
Spa room $ 131+tax
Grand spa suite $ 145+tax
Master suite $ 325+tax

CRT rates 2008 (only for CRT VIP members)
Standard room single or double $ 62+tax
Junior suite $ 91+tax
Spa room $98+tax
Grand spa suite $ 111+tax
Master suite $ 270+tax

Note: all our rates increase for 2008

http://hotel-presidente.com/accomodations.cfm#

Link to the spa room to see what 98 bucks a night will get you.

By the way.........by now.........all the CRT'ers know about the dress code and the one chica rule. It isn't like it just happened or the members here don't know about it.

Those "dimwits" have chicas on their blacklist for a reason. Who could blame them for not wanting trouble in their hotel. Yes, I believe I am a good judge of character when figuring out a chica, but I have had one on the blacklist. You know what? I trusted her enough to go across the street to my friends 2 bed suite in the Balmoral. Nothing but pure great sex happened all night. And for the best part, she never asked for a dime. Maybe The Pres. staff was wrong on her, but I would rather know if someone has been a problem to be extra careful. Hey, some of these girls have sticky fingers. Many of us have been drunk or overtired when bringing a Tica back. I for one, have fell asleep a few times waking up relieved my ipod, ipod speaker, etc. was still there. I was lucky I guess but I am also happy for that extra layer of security. We have no way of knowing what these chicas have done in the past.

In addition, I like their staff, cleanliness of rooms, safety of the hotel, I usually bring electronics and cash and feel secure when I am out for the day that it wil still be there. Plus, I have stayed at many luxury hotels in CR, I've yet to see nicer rooms. ANd if you really want a 3 some, then go to some of these other 1 hr hotels or Eden.

MrVegas, I will continue mongering in CR just the same, thank you. And if The Pres. ain't for you, it's just 1 less guy taking up a room there for me so enjoy the others.

PURA VIDA!

I don't see the Presidente listed on the VIP discounts page:

http://www.costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=17

or the PDF file:

http://www.costaricaticas.com/memberdiscounts.pdf

I don't see any mention of CRT on the Presidente site either. I might be interested in booking one of the spa rooms you were talking about - but only at the discounted rate; if I'm just blind please let me know.

I have already talked to Mr. Vargas at the Presidente inquiring about a room for early May. I told him I am a CRT VIP member and the price on a spa room is 98 a night versus 131 a night.

As of a few days ago, Presidente had a link on the CRT homepage, but not anymore. Either way, Mr. Vargas gave me the CRT rate.

They are still a VIP Sponsor but prefer not to be listed on the pages... If you need the rates EMAIL reservations they will cross reference with the VIP list and respond timely.

Thanks for the replies. One last issue though. Looking off-CRT for info on The Presidente, I found a travel site with various reviews. In between people warning about all the dirty old gringos taking hot ticas up to their rooms  , there were several mentions of uncomfortable beds, including one who said that his room just had a bare boxspring with no matress.

Is this a real problem, or are the beds reasonably comfortable?
