I have recently e-mailed several of the drivers listed in this section for several days of transportation in March. As of yet I have received only one reply. They may be out on the road not able to answer or just been real busy. Anyway it makes me wonder if some of the e-mail addresses are up to date. Here's what i have( that haven"t returned my e-mail). If any BM's knows of any corrections please let me Know.

Juan Carlos Vega:juancvega63@hotmail.com
Name of Orlando(van):Abletours@yahoo.com
Name of carlos(van):ecantados@racsa.co.cr
Oscar Cascante Bogarin:oscartourcr@racsa.co.cr(returned as bad address by server).
Mente:mschumann73 at hotmail.com

Also does anyone have an e-mail for Steven Corrales,Sergio,Ingris, or anyone else who can carry 6 guys on extended trips?

Thanks

I stayed at the DR in August and arranged for a driver to Jaco. It was $100 for the day in a big Turismo van. The driver spoke good English and stopped wherever we wanted. He was also a good tour guide. He waited for us in Jaco for hours and hours and then drove us back to the DR. I think we were gone for about 10-12 hours.

I don't recall his name, but my point is that you should be able to find a good driver if your hotel is willing to help out.

Maybe you could get an even better rate, but this worked well for me, and I would go it again.

I think the driver's name was Gomez.....He was a really nice guy.

I have used the following two drivers on seperate trips:

Gustavo Vega Pena (506) 870-1990 cellular or (506) 294-1061 home....email is gustavovegapena@hotmail.com.

Many people on the board have used him due to the fact he is a regular at the Sportsmans Lodge. His van is one of the large turismo vans with roof racks etc. Nice guy and speaks decent english.

Joe Artavia (506) 367-0214 cellular...email is joeart2006@gmail.com or joetours@latinmail.com.

His name and services have been mentioned on the board here previously. Joe also has a van, although not as nice as Gustavo's, there is room for a good size group. Very reliable also and his english is perfect, actually better than his spanish because he was raised in the US.

Depending on what these guys have going the rates may vary widely.

Must have been quite some time since you used them as you quoted the old 7 digit phone numbers. I added the eighth digit.

I have used a guy named Jose who owns a van and sits in the parking lot across the street from the Del Rey. He seems to be one of the long timers there. Some of those guys are real jack offs!!! He has taken us to Jaco and several other day trips. He speaks very good english and is VERY reliable. Let me know if you want his email address.

Very Reliable call to check for prices

David Cryman
viptourscostarica@yahoo.com

VIP Tours

I have another option - Gustavo Adolfo - his english is passable but it would help if someone in your group is fluent. I use Gustavo almost exclusively.

Peace, love, and reliable transportation for all,

Don Rico
