Just my $.02 worth

matt has the right idea here.
the rooms are clean and everthing is new, at least the rooms i saw.
i stayed in a penthouse apt. type room. still not exactly sure of the designations as this was my first stay. but it was big and nice and $67US with the CRT discount. great deal.
free breakfast is pancakes, sausage, eggs, fruit, oj etc. really good and staff was quick to make it fresh when my girl and i came down to eat.
not sure if that is typical that your girl eats too.
lots of stairs and no elevator so fatboys, drunks and geriatrics may have trouble getting up and down to rooms here.
i look at it as a great opportunity to study the jiggle factor of my girl
no bar yet, and there IS lots of construction going on right now. but they stop /start at reasonable hours so it really isnt that bad.
you can walk right down the street to SL for a meal and a beer.
again the staff is gracious and this place is going to be really nice when completed.
and matt is one of us and wants our business.
will be back in february and may bring my tools matt.

Is there a fee for bringing a girl back to your room, here is what the websites says:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guest Policy!
All adult guests have to be registered at the reception desk with either Passport or ID before entering a room, the charge is $ 13.- plus Tax(16%) for any extra Person in room.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I also see differences in the discounts claimed from 15/25/30 percent, I have e-mailed them and asked how much for a room during my trip dates, but didn't ask about the guest charges. Anyone comment....I will go back and re-read this thread for tips. Been thinking of staying at SL but this place seems really quite reasonable and walking distance anyway to SL.

Gentlemen

We do not charge for guests. They do have to be registered at the front desk. This is for your own prodection. No ID no entry.

Regards

Matt

Again - you rent the room -what you do in the room is not a concern as long as you dont bother other guests or have problems with the police  . If you like to party and you are in a group i would suggest the penthouses as they are in a seperate wing, large enough to have as many girls as you like and can be seperated from the other guests.

Cheers

Joker97 and I are arriving at the La Amistad Feb 23. I see it is close to a hospital. On the Hotel La Amistad web stite it is called Hospital Dr. Calderon Guardia.Pac55 in a post said it is near the Corizon Hospital. Now my question is are there two near by hospitals or just one and which name should I tell a cab driver the hotel is close to.
Thanks Joker99

I stayed there this trip and would highly recommend it. Very comfortable rooms, great building, very monger friendly. There were a few bitchy gringas in the lobby when I brought back a cutie named Haidy from SL for a nooner. Boy did we get some looks when she dropped off her id. I seriously wanted to flip them off as I walked up the stairs, but since the hotel knew I was a CRT member, I did not want to make them or us look bad. My only complaint was when my second tica of the day backed up the toilet, I had to plunge it and fix it myself. The night guy wouldn't do anything. Luckily I had a few rentals before, so I can fix a toilet. My rate with CRT discount was $50 a night.

well its almost six pm here now and the construction is definetly extensive and ongoing. so loud if you wanted to watch tv you would be on high volume to hear it.
no way to take a nap most days. and i'm not sure if the plumbing is being worked on but in 312 it ran out of water completely one day and on three other occasions the hot water and pressure went to almost zero.
things looked a bit more finished but would guess its still at least six months to a year before its completed imo.

one added note, the staff was very good the entire time as always, the free breakfast was great and they set me up in a room for the last five hours before my flight at no charge.
has to be tough doing business with all these renovations going on.

More kudos to Matt and his staff

Moved rooms at my choice due to some early morning noise and was starting to take a shower when the shower head flew off. A bit inconvenienced, I went downstairs and showed Rudi the busted head. He informed me the Luis the maintenance guy would not be in until morning, this was about 7 PM.

The result, I asked if there was an empty room that I could use just to shower and have for later in the evening if I had company and wanted to shower, I was given a key to another room for such at no charge of course....

Thanks again guys.....
