A couple of posts on daytime chicas go the other direction, so I take it there is some action there some of the time (in the bar)?? but as ID says late shift work groups, slimmer pickens. Sounds like its worth stopping in for a drink or two even if staying elsewhere.

No they are not a sponsor. You can email them at info@costaricamorazan.com or call them at 011-506-222-4622. Calling them is best as their email response is spotty at best

Are some of the local gals willing to trudge upstairs to the gringo room, or are they just hanging with the local crowd? Is it a mix of locals and tourists both in the rooms and the bar?

The locals who gather at the Morazan, very early in the morning, are night shift workers from the casinos and hotels in the area relaxing after work. Most are not going to go to your room especially when with a group of co-workers. As in any situation there are always exceptions but they are few and far between

I got a few looks from some of the chicas, it looked interesting but all my leche and dinero and energy was spent on the HDR chicas 8)

Hi Gents, I have been tolerating Ricardo the bell boy for 4 years and though I have to be nice to him because I frequent the place I want to warn you newbies he is a pest with his hand and ears out for a commission. I suggest not to book any tours through him and when he asks do you ned a taxi say no and go to the street and get your own. The Hotel taxi will not use a meter and add a commission in for Ricardo. This includes airport service. If he hears you are going to a doctor or someone he knows he calls them and has them add in a commission for him. Do not let him make any calls for you or know your business. It has gotten to the point where his greed has made me write this. I know he lives on tips but when he is making a tip why does he need a commission as well? I hear he charges the drivers $ 15.00 when he arranges your trip to Jaco. I hired my own driver to take me to the beach and he said Ricardo told him it was $ 15.00 to pick me up at the Morazan. I had a driver come by to pick me up another time and he told him I had left and wanted me to take his driver. All I am saying is when he says you the man he is calling you a sucker. I wish the manager would wake up and get another person. His voice is very loud and he is a real pest. Beware of Ricardo he is pushy and his hand is always out. Above all he is sneaky and underhanded. This is just my opinion yours may be different. Take Care Gents, H.

It's been a while since I've stayed at the Hotel Morazán. They used to have an Internet computer next to reception. Any chance they have wireless Internet these days?

Yes, they have WI-FI in a small lobby next to the 3rd floor elevator. It is probably available in nearby rooms.

1). Do the rooms have a safe ?

2). Has anyone had an extended stay, one,two weeks in a Jr. Suite and what did they charge you per night ?

3). My understanding is that only the third floor rooms have wireless internet. Does any one know if the JR. suites have internet access ?

Thanks in advance

The rooms have a key safe. I reserved a Jr Suite for 2 nights at $75 per night with tax plus $3 for safety deposit key. The Jr Suites I thought were on the 5th floor. I figured Ricky Ricardo phucked me  I couldn't dail out on the phone always busy, was told a 5 minute wait to dail out. Does anyone know if room 200 is actually a Jr suite

My take on the Morozan. It's a budget hotel for the area. With this expected, you get what you pay for.

I checked in on Friday (Mar 7th). Tiny corner room on the 4th floor. It's ok. I can handle carrying my little weekend bag and laptop, but someone of couse insisted to carry at least one. This guy also had "tip me" printed all over his forehead.

More about the room.

Bathroom:
Strange shower, there is no way to adjust the water while in the shower without getting scortched of frozen. Lucky, that there is no such thing as really hot water here in CR.
The bathroom is also open air (windows). This could explain the ladybug's flying around. If it get's cold outside, wear your socks.

Room service:
What room service? Saturday night I called for a cheeseburger and a coke at 9:30p. At 10:30p, I called and ask, where the heck was my dinner. It was like talking to the wall. After waiting another 45 minutes, I said screw it and headed out to NY bar and had a nice greasy ham and cheeze (it was good) with dry fries (fries not so good).

Bed:
Pretty good. Nice boncy boncy spring action.

Elevator:
Guess what, the elevator is out again. I asked when it was going to be working, and I got a smile. I will take that as, "time is not relevant in CR my friend".
I have been watching poor old guys suffering going up and down the stairs all day. I chatted with a guy going up with a bad hip and another with two bad knees. Sorry guys. My fat ass was huffin and puffin myself by the 4th floor too. I wonder if the geedy guys downstairs would carry some of the guys up the stairs for the right tip?

Safes:
Tiny safes. You need to carry a key. I hate the Del Rey prices, but their safes are the best. I can toss my laptop in there and all my valuables. No key, you program the combo.

Internet:
I didn't even bother to ask. For me, it's worth getting the free wired internet at the Del Rey. I bring my VOIP device and it's like I am still at home. (I use teleblend, former sunrocket).

TV:
Ok, the TV is kick ass in this place. Tons of english speaking channels for me. Tons of spanish videos for the ticas. When is one of these hotel's gonna start having streaming porn in the rooms?

Noise:
Perhaps because I faced the park and the street. It was annoying being able to hear everything down below, car alarms going off, people fighting, etc all day and all night.

Location:
About as good as it gets. One block from Del Rey. They had some festival in the part this past weekend and fireworks friday night. I had a good view from my balcony.

All in all, it's a fine hotel for the price. The no tica fee is perfect for this location. No thumbs up, but no thumbs down either.

Still $40.00 weekend days and $35.00 weekdays with the coupon in the Tico Times.

I was wondering if there is any discount off the JS with the coupon in the Tico Times?
