Ok, I found out late that I could actually get away for a few days yet this month. So checked flight schedules and saw that it would still be feasable if I could find a hotel room, So on Wednesday I emailed the following, Castillo, SL, Amistadt, and The Presidente just in case. Here are the results.

Castillo - Sold out
SL- No Response even after 2 requests
Amistadt - Update responded today 5 days later Rooms available.
Presidente - Standard rooms available. They responded in less than 12 hours.

I also attempted to email Nixon at The Amon Plaza, email rejected twice said it was not a good email address. Update, Got a reply from Nixon today, Rooms available

So even though I dont much like to stay right downtown, looks like I will have to take whats available.

I have seen many times on here people having trouble getting emails from the SL. To insure that theres would not be caught in a spam blocker I placed there email address in my address book and insured it was not marked spam. I guess they pick and choose who they want to respond to.

So now it appears the SL is the only one that is unable or unwilling to respond to emails.

I personally find the SL email thing funny. On NUMEROUS occasions they have came out and noted that their email service is down for one reason or another.

I dont get how you can run a hotel, and not accept email reservations. If I was the manager/owner of such a hotel, I would be making sure its up and running ASAP. One time is acceptable, but a continuous problem is just negligence to deal with a problem

I certainly understand your frustration with the email thing as I have felt ignored by some of these places. However, they all have phones, websites with phone numbers (with links available on CRT), English speaking clerks and immediate information as to whether rooms are available. That said, I always follow up with an email to confirm my reservation. It always feels more secure to have something in writing.

Sportsmen's really needs to get that email thing fixed. I didn't get a response last time I tried it either. I'm pretty sure it's not a spam blocker issue at this point.

I totally understand this, but the email thing is there for a purpose, some of us dont want someone listening in to where we are trying to make reservations too. If they dont want to do email then take it off their website.

Exactly. Its one thing to have no email, and then their is having email and it not working and you do nothing about it.

Plus, its a hotel, how do you not have an email contact that works?

I for one never make phone reservations, especially with an international country. More times then none you get line interference, the person cant hear you correctly, its costs you long distance fee's ( Not the case here ), or things get miscommunicated and you end up with half a reservation.

Its just very lazy business practices not having a working email address.

I went through this as well. Sent three emails to Sportsmans. No luck. I wanted to stay there at least once. Looks like not this trip anyway.

Gentlemen,

I appreciate your input as always. We have recently moved our email servers to the United States hoping this isssue would be resolved. It is simply not true that we do not respond to emails PERIOD! Obviously there is still an issue here. Our hosting company has suggested to us that the spam settings on each individuals computer is still the most likely problem here. Please call us toll free at 1-800-291-2798 for reservation inquiries if for some reason you do not here back from us within 4 hours. We will continue to work on this problem on our side.

The only whinner as usuall is Irish. and what is so negative about my post, All I did was post the results of my search, and if you had read it you would have seen that I updated it as I got responses.

The only negative thing about it is the failure of the SL to respond. but you will note I have said I like the SL.

Do you spend your entire day, looking to where you can make negative comments. Maybe you need to get a life.

Amazing you can find whining and negativity in others but fail to either recognize it or admit to it in yourself. You might want to invest in a large mirror. :lol:

Why not call they have an 800#? I always call if I do not get a response with in 24 hours.
