Member’s that bitch about little shit (petty minds) will help create an atmosphere where men that are les’s gifted or they simply are poor spellers’ yet very skilled cocksman from passing you worthwhile information. Is that worth it because it bug's little old you :) ???

I s’urely am guilty of poor grammar at time's which even bug’s me but as long as guy’s get the meaning who care’s???? I just ain't got that much time to done did usem all them high tech grammer & s’pelling device’s cause I am reloading on condom’s & lube all the time   .

I guess if someone gets upset by my pet peeve and chooses not to share information, I'll have to live with that. My post wasn't directed at anybody in particular (OK sorry about DougPI but I know he has thick skin and can take it) so if a member isn't self-conscious about his grammar I assume he won't take offense.

What stops people from giving good information is when other members respond to his post(s) with a shitty attitude. I received the following responses to my very first post (a TR) as a VIP member"

I am not one to flame someone....but this story is hard to take in....

Nah.... I don't buy it either. ....

tell me you really think all this SHIT happened in one nite

This guy not only fell off the turnip truck, he invented the term....
We all realize his actions were way beyond stupid... He was incredibly naive, gullible, and inconceivably fleeceable .... How he didn't end up in a gutter with some tranny pounding his vulnerable ass is a miracle in itself... How the guy could be a VIP member and not read any posts to be even a little prepared is incredulous... I think this entire episode redefines the term 'newbie"...

The story may or may not be true ,i for one am skeptic to believe it

I don't buy it either. I'll assume it's partially true but really embellished.

Sounds like a bad fairy tale to me. Once upon a time............

So maybe I get peeved too easily but cut me some phucking slack. I posted my first TR thinking it would help the forum and I got my ass kicked. I didn't let it stop me; I kept posting and took four more trips to CR and wrote detailed TRs after each one. I have helped a lot of guys in CR and try to provide as much useful information as I can on the board.

I even met some of the guys who flamed my first post, and I don't hold a grudge. It is all in good fun and should not be taken too seriously.

If someone decides not to share information with me just because he is afraid that I'll critique his grammar and spelling I guess that is his choice.

(BTW I don't really care about spelling and I could do away with upper case letters altogether and never miss them. I'm not trying to be the grammar police, I just gave the three things that annoy me.)

The misuse of apostrophes to indicate plurals really drives me crazy, and can be found everywhere, not just here. I'd really like to know where this started--"lot's of car's"...even in Spanish like "many chica's"...WTF?! Apostrophes are used to indicate possession or a contraction, not plurals. Can't believe something this basic has been forgotten.

BTW, while I'm on this mini-rant, plurals of acronyms don't use apostrophes either, eg. "DVDs". Same with referring to the years of a decade as in "the 1980s".

Gawd "apostrophes" looks like a damn impressive word to just sit back a take a long hard look at all those letters in it. :? :) ??? Its just one more thing to type anyway so now that I know how these little apostrophes basterds can piss dudes off see if I ever use the damn little things again!!

Really guys don't be silly it is all fun here. Its fun to have a little fun with each other when we need some recovery time.

Crookedcr youre alright no mater what anybody says... Sorry you feel like you got kicked around. i believe we are just having a little fun. Hey I do agree with what you said about what keeps guys from posting here. I believe we would all do better to be less cynical but hell I am cynic by nature so its not all my fault. Surely there is someone I can blame for my dumb phucked up ways. :D

"We didn't get no chance to see no films."

Besides the double negative all is well, but the big mistake usually is that people put the period or question mark outside the double quote.

All these are wrong:
"We didn't get no chance to see no films".
"We didn't get no chance to see no films"?
"We didn't get no chance to see no films"!

Alll these are right:
"We didn't get no chance to see no films."
"We didn't get no chance to see no films?"
"We didn't get no chance to see no films!"

The other possibility is when the above is followed on with a comma at the end.

This is wrong (comma outside the quote):
"We didn't get no chance to see no films", blah blah blah

This is right (comma inside the quote):
"We didn't get no chance to see no films," blah blah blah

I've been waiting for 2 years to say the above. LOL! Thanks Crookedcr! :D I'm done now. I'm finished with CRT. Finally, my mission has been accomplished. :)

It needs to be a trade off. I am reading this to relax and pass on information. I do try with the there, their, they're but apostrophes on contractions are often assumed.

You've got to be kidding me, a phucking thread on grammar. Wow, there must really be nothing going on these days.

Maybe this bugs me more than most.

I write/review writing for a living and am grateful for whatever valuable information gets posted - regardless of grammar.

I understand your position, as I helped to edit an academic journal in a former life. However, sometimes you have to let it go. Now, the ISG Board remains a different matter. Let the brothers remain informal, so that the information freely flows.

Croockedcr-

I can certainly see why grammar or the incorrect use of it bothers you given your vocation.

I used to be the same way with accents. Spanish is my first language but those who know me know that I don't even carry a hint of an accent (thanks to 2 years of speech therapy)

I couldn't get used to southern talk, or NY/ Italian english, people from the midwest etc..

It took time to get used to. Anyway when you think of it, this forum wouldn't be as open if we all had to watch our grammar (myself included).
But the point is noted...

Crookedcr I thought you were a used car dealer back in the states and was planning to import cars to CR. If a few grammar errors bother you I just wonder how much high blood pressure meds the car business causes you to take being in your early 30's ?

Go ahead rip my grammar apart because I don't really care as long as the message is conveyed .

I was thinking the same thing. I agree some of the postings are hard to follow due (or is it "do"?) to the grammar. But, I think we are all most interested in the content. And shame on me for reading this whole (or is that one "hole"?) thread.

When did He get involved in this site?

This makes no sense to me... Of all the words to censor

It is not censorship in the classic definition of that word. Certain words are changed to prevent search bots from zeroing in on this site and listing it as porno.

Ahh, now that makes sense. Completely backwards compared to my day-to-day line of work but what can you do
