Does anyone know what the usual fee is for a driver from SL to p/up from airport? Already arranged for driver to meet us there, just wanted to know how much money to give.

$18 -20 has been quoted. I had better luck just flagging down a passing taxi and offering 6 mil - second guy I spoke with took it. Took all of about 45 seconds.

Interbus will also pick you up cheaper but you have to leave 3-4 hours early.

My ride from the airport to SL was ok. Had to wait for the ride at the airport for about 45 minutes, but I did come in on a later flight, so that was not their fault.

The ride from SL to the airport sucked. They were 30 minutes late, the driver stood outside the bus talking to his buddy for 30 more minutes, then they walked over and told me to take the other bus. I was pretty pissed, and the new driver looked at me and said "just chill out".

Luckily I had plenty of time.. but hungover and getting screwed around with didn't make for a happy gringo!

From now on I'm taking a taxi...

Which SL driver (s) you are referring to. I have used Juan Carlos, Gustavo, Jose and Gerardo all SL guys for airport trips in both directions and have never experienced what you describe....

Curious as to who this was to avoid problems for myself and others in the future.....

Here is what I suggest for airport tranportation:

FROM AIRPORT: Interbus is a no-brainer ($7) if alone; take an airport (orange) taxi if you have 1 or more wingmen ($18-19 total)

TO AIRPORT: Forget Interbus, too early pick-up. Take a regular red taxi, negotiate a deal. I've paid 6k ($12) the last few times I did it. Forget the private drivers, they'll charge you $20-25.

Best thing is to ask a taxi driver you meet during your stay if he'd be interested in taking you to the airport. If so, ask for his number/card and call him the day before to schedule a time. Then call him AGAIN about 4-6 hours before to confirm/remind. If all else fails, you can always just flag down a red taxi and either negotiate a fare or just use the meter.

I gotta go with El Silencioso on this. I've used all the above drivers and never had a problem. I'm curious which driver(s) he's talking about also...

Jimmy from SL picked me up from there last month. Charged me $20 and I gave him $25. Does a great job helping me get my Ambien and other stuff.

take the T.U.A.S.A bus located on 2nd avenue near the Talamanca hotel for 73 cents...350 col. non-stop and they run every 10 minutes

this would be going TO the Airport...from the airport do the same and get the bus on the main street in front of the exits...about 100 yards away...ask someone exactly where

I have had good luck with all the regular SL drivers, but I highly recommend Gerardo. His phone number is 506.398.2727. In over three years, he's never missed an appointment with me.

Whats the bottom line on a room at SL...I heard $55, website says $59; 10% off for CRT. Tax 16/17%?

So 55 plus tax gotta be 64 minus 6.4 = $57.60. Plus 10% off your eats and drinks. That about the best Im gonna do?
