Not my money, however due to freedom of speech amendment and my CRT annual I can give my dos centavos.

I can consider the possibilities of scantily clad chicas pulling or pushing their respective slot machine into the wee hourds of the morning outside of my room.

I can cansider the possibility of chicas checking in at the front door of the Gardens Casino with cedulas in hand in a long line 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

I can see myself a sleep in room #22 and awakening myself to look out over the balcon to see hordes of chicas parlaying on the patio of the Garden Casino!

I can see myself pulling chic after chic for $40.00 without having to leave
the hotel.

I can not see myself paying an annual membership fee of $500 to a $1000 to see p4p chicas that I can walk 3 blocks to see at SL or pay $2000 colon to taxi down to DR for the same.

If I want to go to a gentlemans club. Im in the capital of gentlemens clubs right here in friggin HOUSTON!

I was just at the castillo having coffee when guy came in with contracters discussing expanding the bar. I think he said his name was Bo. He said he owned the restaurant and was in the process of buying the hotel from Steve

The membership club is to bring attention to their real estate project. he claims they are building 300 condos behind the hotel on land that backs up to the zoo. $300 a square foot. & 600 if time shared.

They are bringing 80 more slot doubling what they have already. <the membership gives you 3 meals a day from a buffet and you can keep your own liquor there. limo shuttle from airport and every 30 minutes to colonial casino.

Even the working girls have to buy membership. They will also be the only ones selling them earning them 10 percent.

I usually eat for 1500 1800 colons each meal in SJ.
If I want to gamble and stand a half ass chance I winning I go to Vegas!

I find chicas in CR at bargain prices that do everything to fulfill all of my wildest fantasies. Why would I purchase a closed ended membership.

Timeshares in Costa Rica. It does not work in the US. It wont work in paradise. It is a lot cheaper to buy your

I wish them all the luck in the world, but if that is truly the plan. Real Estate people are luaghing all the way to the Bank of Costa Rica.

I have an insider that tells me they dont even have permits or licenses to do what that propose.

What are they smoking? I mean drinking?

I agree 100% 50strokes.

No they dont have their casino licence yet... your right about that..

I found the guy as oily as you would think a time share guy would be <He had no qualms about admitting the membership was a sales tool for the condos.

I personalñly see this as a dream going up in flames along with everybodys fees.

If this guy is buying the hotel, my fear is that he will change management/staff in order to cut cost/increase revenue. To be perfectly blunt, the Hotel Castillo is nothing withou their staff. If Darren, Marta, Patricia, and Danny weren't working there I wouldn't bother staying at the hotel.

Why is it that people keep trying to Phuck up a good thing?

Agreed. The staff there is the best. It almost feels like you are a houseguest instead of a just renting a room.
Nothing has worked out business wise in the garden restaurant so I dont see this half baked idea having any chance at sucess. Lets just hope that the Castillo stays as is.

You guys are right. The staff there is the best and without them the hotel would not be the same and will lose a lot of regulars. Let's hope that none of these things happen.

Totally agree. When I arrive at Castillo I feel like I'm coming home and seeing old friends.

I for one would consider slots a bad change because of the noise. The noise drove me out of the HDR back when I was a rookie. It may help the restaurant but be a disaster for the hotel. Bo is a nice enough fellow to talk to but I have no idea how far any discussions have gone with Steve or with Tom, the restaurant owner, for that matter.

Castillo has always been my home in San Jose, so I emailed Darren about these rumored changes. His reply was Yes the restaraunt is going to be undergoing some remodeling, he didnt elaborate even when I asked him about the slots. He also sidestepped the question of whether the hotel was in negotiations to be sold.

I guess I will have to find a new home, The Don Carlos is nice but not chica friendly, but it is close to where I usually hang out. The Hemmingway is old tired and not chica friendly. The SL is chica friendly and a nice place to hang and meet people, but just a tad too noisy for me. I checked out the Amistadt in November and althought its a tad farther walk to NF and ZB, it shows promise. Now all I have to do is find a room for the couple days I can get there this month.

Thanks for the heads up. I am booked to stay at the Castillo in March.
I emailed them and asked if the construction is going to impact my resevations. I'll let everyone know about the reply.
