Not being a shy person especially when I see a cute chica, I frequently start up a conversation that usually ends up with me asking her for a date. And I think I am pretty good at reading a person, but, frequently, because the "pros" are SOOOO GOOOD at acting, it is difficult to tell pro or not. I just do not like to be supprised half way thru the dinner with "If we go back to your place and have sex, you will have to pay me muchas $$$$$"

Sure, I for the most part prefer the "choose a puta, undress, pluck her, dress, pay her, and leave with no strings" situation of the gulch and MPs. But I live here, enjoy an occasional romantic dinner, followed by a glass, or2, or 3, or more of wine and or maybe go dancing with a chica that I am not paying speciffically to be with me. Again, sure I am paying with the dinner and wine, but it is not the same as a negocio with a puta.

Jadcujo, She did not LIE. She was a clerk and helped me pick out cloths. I talked to her a little and went back the next day and asked her for a dinner date for Friday (3 days latter). That night I saw her in the REY I asked her "Just when were you going to tell me that I had to pay for our "date".. Her response was "It is not going to cost you" and I didnot pay her, but after plucking her I felt like I should have paid her!! yeah, it was that good and she is a puta. But then that is part of the difference between a negocio and a "date"

And yes, I often ask myself why a young (25-30) chica would be interested in me or any other "old, fat, grayheaded, gringo? As anyone that knows much about ALL latin countries can tell you, the answer is simple. They do not look at the age difference the way N. Amaricans do. As KC said, Ticos and latinos in general are totally irrisponsible; frequently all they want is to have 2-3 or more K*ds, then leave. SORRY, NOT TRYING TO OFFEND ANY LATINOS, JUST STATING THE WAY LATINAS LOOK AT IT. The chicas look at gringos as being more responsible, dependable, and yes rich. And many times they are looking for a father figure because they never knew their father. Sure it is all about money whether pro, seni pro, or totally non pro. BUT, trying to compare relationships, costombres and moraes between the US and any latin country is like trying to compare apples and oranges


And Florida, yes I have regulars that C*m to my house, some for no or very little (taxi) money. BUT as you should know from having lived here, there is more to life in CR than just "working chicas" AND I KNOW SOME GUYS FIND THAT HARD TO BELIEVE!!!

Ok BangBang maybe you don't need the Ho-Jack specialists for the moment ? No mater who you meet I would suggest being normal about the whole scene but if you want to keep her interest in you I would give her like 10,000 CR currency bill in her purse in a nice way at the end of the evenimg whether you do anything with her or not. If she throws it in your face you should be able to narrow down what is going on from what comes next. If she says that isn't enough she is a pro. If she starts crying & leaves she probably has never taken $$ from a man like this.

If she says wow you didn't have to do that but is happy about it you maybe able to make her something truly worth while & keep her to yourself somewhat ?

A friend of mine who lives there also does this with great success. He was bitching about not being able to get many civilian Ticas to repeat a date until he came up with this little idea . He said his success rate increased 50% with repeated dates by doing this. Money,money...money makes these chicas go around !

As far as age difference between a Tica & Gringo are concerned I would say 20 to 25 years difference is quite acceptable .

Lacking the obvious experience of a professional or the learned skills that are evident after years and years of tricking!


Professionals I meet on their way to DR, SL, KL, ZB, IDEM, New Fantasy, Avenida Central.

Non professionals I have met at the Mas por Menos, INS, ICE, Bank of Costa Rica, Banex, Banco Improsa, Juan Santamaria Airport, Customs.


Professionals have the look and the game. You have to recognize it when you see it.

Just because a non professional asks for money does not make her a professional, because she does not have the skills and experience that a professional does have.

Now pros and non pros have a need for money. That fact alone does not determineif they are pro or non pro.

Watch out for the tricks.

Non pros will pretend to be pros and Pros will pretend to non pros.

While waiting to get screened at the airport after my trip last year, I saw a HOT airport security officer. She looked great in her uniform, and the gun was snug to her round bottom.
