well...from what i heard on my last trip , things are moving along as it was told to me ...that the horseshoe casino isnt looking for guys like me to play there ....they are looking mostly for hi-rollers who will play high limits and stay at the hotel(suites they are building) what they will find that most of the high-rollers left in the world are mostly asians.....hell the time i went upstairs to see what the horseshoe had done, what i found was a room full of asians playing at 1 table !!! dont know why but i never see a asian at a craps table ....i will be down to san jose in 3 weeks and will give a full report on the going ons at the horseshoe ...maybe they will find out that if they pack the place with hot whores you can take to your room for 50.00 they will make more money than you can count !!!

Thanks for update. So they are building suites? I hope they don't cater exclusively to the high-roller (although given what I have seen of the gulch casinos that threshhold is not too high there) and can't envision the upstair full of Asian keno players and naked Latinas. But I have no idea what to expect and hope it is open by Super Bowl Weekend.

Since I hadn't been into the Horseshoe for quite some time,and wanted to see the progress,A friend and I went in yesterday. WOW this place is really going to be beautiful! I'm sorry to say that I can see no way it will be ready by next Sunday (Jan 20th) which is the target date for now. However I think it will be a great place to gamble and hang out with the chicas once it is ready. The top two floors are open now for gambling. (I did partake for a couple of hours.) I had a chance to chat with Max Rubin,who I met some time ago,and who is the consultant for the casino. He told me about some really interesting promotions they will be running,like giving a free ace to the customer with a maximum bet of $25. I don't want to show my knowledge of the game but at last glance,that gives the player an enormous 52% advantage on that hand. Max also introduced me to one of the new owners (sorry name escapes me) who was working his ass off in the dirt trying to get the place finished.

Here are three things you might want to run by Max.

1. At one of the casinos I played at in Medellin the pit boss comes by and sticks a joker into the shoe. Whoever gets the joker gets paid a 20,000 peso ($10) bonus.

2. They also have the drawings every 2 hours to "spin the wheel".

Now for the bad:

3. The dealers don't get their whole card until everyone has played their hands (same as many CR casinos). When the dealer has a 10 or face card showing and you double down and the dealer then pulls an ACE they take BOTH BETS! I got nailed on this at two different Medellin casinos.

Please don't let that happen in San Jose.

But if I know Max the dealer should be getting both cards from the start. Let's hope so.

hey vegas bob (met you on my last trip..always see you at the dr early afternoon) that guy max carries alot of weight in the gambling world ...i have enjoyed his shows on the travel channel ...he understands what a gambler is looking for in a casino , i am down in san jose in 6 days and i hope he is in town as i would love to chat with him as well....i really hope they do a nice job with this casino ....i myself love asian girls and at first i thought that maybe this would bring some asin girls in town ( there was a post about asian girls and it got ugly about going to san jose to score with asians ..and this isnt about that) but what it will bring is alot of rich asians to san jose ..just like the casino here in Tampa has done ...i was there 2 weeks ago and at my hold em table was myself and 9 asians ....really it seems they are the ones with the money these days ...keep the updates for us and when i get to town ..i will post some myself ..

I love San Jose, but it is a small, value conscience, and largely dingy den of iniquity to begin with.

Wealthy asian men either bring their own asian pu*sy or indulge in the forbidden fruit of the local area. The latter drives up prices!!

i guess you missed my point...they want to turn the horseshoe into a place that caters to gamblers with money....dont know if you gamble but i do ...and your part about "get real" ..that is mostly who is gambling is the asians ...as i said before , the one day i went upstairs in the horseshoe to look at the room that they had completed ..there were 10 people playing ...all asians !!! i guess you missed my point...

Yes I gamble too. I live in in a town with a considerable amount of gambling to be had.

The "get real" part still stands as well as the statement about the pu*sy. This is not an insult but a opinion based on empirical evidence

One of my favoritas has been offered a job there (non-working girl side of the counter) because she speaks better Japanese than Spanish (she is a Colombiana).

When the Asian guys are in town, they throw a lot of money around. I used to guide these guys for salmon in the NW. It was not unusual for them to tip $100 for hooking a fish and handing them the rod. I think a lot of them have something to prove or just don't understand the value of money (no offense intended, just my opinion). If one of them shows interest in one of my favoritas I tell her to go and make muchas banco, I'll see her mid-week.

Max told me that he has a lot of high end junkets lined up for the casino. Whether or not these include Asian groups really isn't important to any of us. It appears that they will be using the Vegas philosophy of catering to all parts of the gambling spectrum. Boy sometimes you guys can argue over almost anything. Do you think it will rain tomorrow?? lol

IMHO you are never gonna get heavy hitters to the center of the gulch. It is too crass, low rent, and unglamorous as compared to lots of spots on the planet. And if you have real money ) which I don{t) the quality is not as high in the gulch as it is to the average guy.

i notice that too. with the economy the way it is in the U.S. value of the dollar is weakening. i notice asians have dollars to spend..

I was their last weekend. This place will be AWESOME. It is very well done. The hosetesses are very attentive

I noticed the small stages where they will have girls dancing. This place will be awesome if they keep going the way they are.


If they have suites I am in!!!! Owners send me a pm the minute they are done I will book just for the experience.

I would love to hear I realistic time until it will be open totally. I am betting May.
