Does anyone have an update on how the renovations at Amistad are coming along?

Gents

The construction progresses. The third floor is completed and new furniture has been moved in. The rooms either have a queen or king bed with new memory foam mattresses, 30 inch tv, new phone system, hard wired internet as well as wireless, ac, refridge... The second floor rooms will be done this week with new furniture same as above. The lobby is all but done, waiting on some finishing touches (light fixtures, plants, finish the hardwood floors and steps. All shoud be done this week. The bar/restaurant has been started and i am being told 2 weeks. This equals to a month tico time. We still work the hours of 9.00 to 6.00 every day. We will be converting another 10 rooms to deluxe but this will be one at a time and should not be a large distraction. We thank the CRT members for their support and patience.

Regards

Matt

Mkink,
Thanks for the update. I usually stay at the SL, but since they were booked for the night of the Superbowl, I will be staying at La Amistad for the first time. I am the one that El Silencioso booked 2 rooms for on Sunday, 3 February. Looking forward to seeing the place.

Pura Vida,
Mucho Gusto

I think you will like the Amistad. My room, 310 , is very verynice and compares favorably with the SL.

Thanks for the update, Matt; I'm booked for a studio for three nights in late February so hopefully the bar will be done by then. :D

I expect it to be complete around 2050. No idea, it seems like they are way behind schedule. I thought it was supposed to be done by Jan 1, I don't think they are even close.

GEE GUYS, talk about high jacking a thread! Shesh! :?

I have been a huge fan of Hotel Castillio. I am sure Amistad will be great when it is done, but I don't see how anyone would want to stay there while the construction is going on. It really surprises me that anyone does.

It does seem like they are trying to get it right. I am looking forward to seeing it when it is all done. I have high expectations.

I was in 311 for 16 nights. Left last week. I have 310 booked for my next trip. Stayed in that one before too. I like both of these rooms and the construction hasn't bothered me at all because I leave the room to chase poosie during the day like I'm supposed to. Will be interested in seeing what the new furniture looks like and also looking fwd to the bar opening up soon.
