I always thought the money spent at the DR, or LDV in Cartagena, or Help in Rio, included a "surcharge." That being, a cost for going to a popular venue where there are lots of dolls, beer flowing, and guys telling war stories. Going to a popular hang where there is lots of action is not necessarily the best place to go for bargains.

On the other hand if a gfe experience is what you seek, look elsewhere. Locating other venues often yields girls who are lookers for less. These girls not only don't ask for money up front - they don't talk about money at all. I met a sweet girl at Claudias in Rio. She runs a no-frills brothel out of her beat up apartment, but often has the sweetest girls for R100 (about $60 U.S.) For that you can take them to your apartment with no discussion of time for money, or money for various acts, etc. One of Claudia's girls gave me her number and two different times stayed with me overnight - and still didn't ask what I'd pay her.

I laugh when I see girls advertise in the States on Craig's list and other places and say they are "Very professional..." That's supposed to give me confidence? Give me a shy girl from out of the limelight in Central or South America everytime, over that "professional" shit.

I was in Rio two weeks recently and didn't go to one termas, Help, or strip joint. I love termas, Help, the DR, LDV, etc. and I'll go in the future. All of those are still light years ahead of anything in the States, and termas are arguably the best invention after electricity. But with a little creativity you can find girls behind the scene who can turn out to be real diamonds in the ruff.

In Cali the Colombiana girls are ridiculously beautiful with none of the attitude of DR Colombianas. And when you get to know them they introduce you to their friends.

No asking for "cien" from this crowd.

As much as I think paying Cien is a bit much. It is the market price in SJO. The supply and demand is dominating the market and encouraging mongers not to pay cien, or criticizing them for paying it won't make any difference. Most guys who go to SJO are not members of this board or any other. They just can't get laid where they live and $100 is a bargain. And frankly, I've seen some of you ugly guys in the DR and I'm surprised they'll do you for that...

What makes CR cool is how well laid out it is. Maybe not as easy as Thailand, but still quite simple. From the DR to ZB to a number of dirt cheap options, San Jose has a buffet style attitude towards pu*sy. If the High End chicas are out of your budget, for whatever reason, there are plenty of lower cost options within blocks. You may give up a little asthetic quality, but you can definitely find pu*sy within your budget.

Almost every night, the DR gets jammed with gringos who are used to trying to impress strippers back home. They try to impress a hooker with how much money they have. Think about that for a second. Would you go to a mechanic before getting a quote and tell him your loaded. It's the same fuckin' thing... Anyhow, the DR/KL et, al are situations created by too many customers shopping for the best looking girls.

My beef is that now that the price has been jacked up, the chicas are now cutting services. Pretty soon, we'll be paying $200 for a covered handjob...

Flashing cash or bragging about how much you have just brands you as a sucker back home, too. Guys need to get a better handle on how women's minds work...

I laughed and told her I get it for between $40 and $80.

More than a $100.00 in CR is to me obviously too much for too little if we are talking about one nut and one hour.

Americans just dont operate well in a bargaining atmosphere most of the time, from what've I seen. Car dealerships exploit this in USA to the max.

If an item has no price tag on it, they are basically LOST. If you put sale on it, they'll jump (ask around at the supermarkets).

Toss in some alkyhol and some hot bush...language difficulties and boy it's shooting gallery for most of the gals at the HDR. It hurts me most I think to see a guy walk out of there and hand a cab driver 2000 colones to go somewhere that costs 650. He gets no extra svc for that! At least if he gives her a $100 he can try to make her earn it all.

All CRT can do is try to advise and educate about the price of a good time...a most noble cause.

I think that the best ploy is to stand firm for value. Whether it is $60 for the hour or $100 for 2hours, MSOG, etc. don't just throw hundred dollar bills around!

With all due respect, Western, you are preaching to the choir. I would bet that less than 10% of HDR mongers are even aware of this site. If you want to do some good you will have to man the reservation desk at the HDR and catch the newbies before they unpack their condoms. You will pro'ley need a couple body guards to watch your back. You won't be very popular with the ladies.

And even if you got the news to every single moron. somebody would decide that paying more would get him the best chica or the best time and you're off to the races.

We Gringos can be so funny & short sided also... If we would spent less time worring about CIEN & put more effort on learning the langauge, culture & networking Cien would be a moot point.
