Is there a good site to search for hotels in Quepos, jaco, manuel antonio ect. All the big sites have few offerings at premium prices. I am looking for low budget or locals hotels
Thanks

Just my opinion, but the "low rent" hotels are probably not going to be internet savvy. I suspect you best bet would be to pick a destination and ask these guys for recommendations. Include how much you are looking to spend a night.

Best Western in Quepos is nice and they have some fairly inexpensive rooms (are you looking at $50 or $10?). Please narrow your request and we can probably help you. Just my humble opinion.

My price range would be $25-50.
I stayed last year in Quepos at A really nice little motel next to the ball fields for $25, it had a Brand new a/c unit and a new Fridge and very decent beds.
In Jaco I found A very decent motel approx 6 blocks up from the Beatle Bar by the laundry. It was owned by an cute european girl, it had a really nice clean pool and a small bar setup next to the pool with really decent Pizza. I think that place was $35

The Low rent tour can be pretty nice!

Anyone try Clarita's in Jaco?

$60 for ocean view and A/C
$45 for parking lot view and no A/C

Would the $45 room be a mistake in say late May?

It's supposed to have a bar frequented by local expats 50-65...and a decent part of the beach. Short cab to the action.

I checked out their website and tried to read between the lines, cause it was awful positive. Looking for real world experience by people from this board if possible.

Like the know the name of the place you found for $35??

Last time in Jaca I paid $118 each for two rooms, but I had two hotties (and one hija) with me....this trip going a little more spartan; don't want to end up in pig pen.

The best directions I can remember: Coming in on the road that goes by the lighthouse restaurant, the road turns left and also it turns into the main drag in Jaco. at the point where the main road turns left, go straight (dirt road) about 1/2 block, you will pass a laundry on your right. the hotel (8-10 units) is on the right maybe 1/2 to 1 block ahead. It has a visible pool and small bar/food setup that you should be able to see from the road.
I would and plan to stay there again this year.

Thanks, I'm looking at a map of Jaco now. Trying to make this trip as simple as possible.

That would be a mistake any month from January to December. Seriously, it's HOT there.

YEA....I must've been dreaming. I can just imagine sweltering in the cramped room looking out at the parking lot while its humid and raining outside. Meanwhile I living on Ron Zacapa and hor'derves from the Beatle Bar....

better spring for an extra $15 and have a few beers instead.

thanks guys.
