I take issue with the view of shock and surprise Jeter is in Costa Rica with Del Rey girls and so many are shocked

But, all that aside, I have pictures of Jeter from about ten feet away, facing me in Yankee Stadium three years ago. Had seats three rows from field, left of Yankee batters box.
Now I am NOT doubting anyone here, in fact I hope he IS enjoying himself in CR, but those side views don't look like the Jeter I got pics of ON THE FIELD in Yankee Stadium!
I know that is the real him.
Three years, he is in shorts...probably is him.

Talked to him for about 5 minutes in the bar watching the Pitt / Balt Game and he simply did not want to do photos by the pool he did sign autographs for about every gal by the pool and about 30 K*ds... ... He was real cool about it...

I do not think anyone was damning his action but everyone in the early thread seemed to have amazement that someone famous would monger. I started pointing out that here we all are acting surprised he would hangout with Del Rey girls when that is what we all do. There was an implied tone to the thread tht somehow it was crazy for him a wrong.

I believe the poster was just following up attempting to point out we should consider this normal male behavior.

Why would anyone want to "advertise" this anyway?? Jeez, let the guy have his fun just like anyone else on this board.

OK fair enough but if I monger and I am not famous and I say “I’d be surprised to see a famous person monger” how does that make me a hypocrite?

This is not passing judgment about whether mongering is right or wrong so I don’t see how it is the pot calling the kettle black….

Simply my opinion, but if I were "famous" and concerned about my public image I would not be seen doing things publicly that I would not want publicly known. Anyone with his banco could easily arrange for private entertainment. My point is that by publicly participating he put his own shiat in the street.

While I would not support "outing" him to the press or some such, I don't think we need to go out of our way to avoid mentioning his name for fear of someone finding it on a Google search. If he was that concerned he would have taken measures to assure his privacy. Just my humble opinion.

the tabloid type press had Jeter in Puerto Rico recently (Christmastime)with Jessica Biel?, so he was close by CR. He as also been linked to Tysun Beckford or whatever the dudes name is....his publicist is probably keeping the bi or gay rumors under control by making sure he gets publically seen around plenty o pu*sy. to each his own.

p.s. His full name is: Derek Sanderson Jeter, there's a clue, ole Sandy was a hound dog!

As Jeter lives in Tampa, he should join us at one of our Tampa CRT chapter meetings! The Winghouse or Hooters might be OK, but I doubt
he'd want to join us on our 'club tour' That's why he goes to CR...relative anonimity.

Has anyone ever stopped to think that maybe Derek Jeter just doesn't give a shit what anyone thinks??? The guy's young, good looking, SINGLE, makes over $20 million a year between his Yankee salary and endorsement deals, and generally speaking has the world by the balls. If I were him, I certainly wouldn't give a flying shit what anyone thought of me. Anyone who's followed his extracurricular activities away from the playing field knows that he's had multiple flings with models, celebrities, actresses, singers, etc....All of whom I'm sure benefitted in one way or another because of his financial status much like the chicas in CR would. We're all nuts if we don't think that wealthy male celebrities know exactly what goes on in CR and occasionally partake in some form of mongering down there. So it should really come as no shock to our systems if a celebrity sighting at the HDR from time to time even though there will always be that "wow!" factor.

Anyway, other than seeing Wee Man at the HDR back in September, I also saw a limo driver in a suit waiting outside the airport terminal holding up a sign with a fairly prominent NBA player's unmistakable name on it (this was back in August of '05 and I'd prefer not to reveal who it was). Even though I never saw this player at the HDR during my trip, my hunch is that he wasn't down there to see the volcano or rain forest. So when it comes to mongering down in CR, let's allow celebrities to live and let live the same way we enjoy that privledge.
