Hey, if the guy was there, he was there. I'm just saying I have a tough time believing it, but stranger things have happened.

My whole thing is, if it got out, and imagine the headline in the NY papers "Derek Jeter spotted leaving brothel". It could possibly kill his career, be a big scandal you know. And please dont anyone say the DR isnt a brothel, because it definently is. And he's always been a "clean" guy with no real negativity attached to him, so him throwing himself out there is kinda nuts.

But whatever, to each his own, good for him if he was there, if I ever meet him I might shake him down with my inside info about him being with hookers. Haha. It'd be cool if you guys got a pic of him, just to you know...100% confirm.

I'll still accept it with some skepticism, but you never know I've met famous people in weird places before, so anythings possible.

I don´t see how it is weird. He was in there, big deal. His entourage left with a bunch of hookers. He is not in the USA. These guys, like married guys and the rest of us come to CR for sport fishing . A-Rod (married man) dates strippers, how about the club in Atlanta where many NBA stars were having sex in the VIP room with the strippers.

So one night he goes into the Del Rey with buddies and has drinks and flirts with the chicas. I saw gringa eco tourist in there having a drink (I can´t believe that would happen, what about their reputations).

Even if a newspaper got a hold of him having drinks in the Hotel Del Rey, big shit. Nobody can actually say he paid for sex (unless his entourage rats him out). If anyone has to be concerned id it hitd the newspapers are all those guys that tell their wives the Del Rey is a sports bar and casino.

Your skepticism is misguided. I don´t think anyone on this board can confirm what he did later that night. The only thing they can confirm is that he was in there.

Besides, I think he in CR for winter ball-ing.

I think you are vastly overestimating the amount of give-a-shit that the American people have. He is a guy. Guys do stuff. Yawn.

I've seen a couple of character actors that you would recognize in the DR. Adults just don't get that upset because I guy was with a hooker, even a real trashy one. Look at Charlie Sheen and the big British romantic star dewd, ol' what's his name... It is just not that big a deal, IMHO.

Nah that i doubt. Our entire country is driven by celebrity scandal. For instance, look at Barry Bonds. No one has ever proved he's taken steroids or lied about using it. But look how long that has been in the news. Same thing with, for instance, Paris Hilton. She makes the news more than world events. Sad to say, more people probably know about that kinda stuff than other big news items.

Okay, I'll play, name one celebrity who's career was killed due to a sex scandal...

It may make the papers and it may be news for a day, but it sure didn't kill Charlie Sheen's career. People may talk, but they love to talk and don't stop watching baseball because a star was with a hooker, please, IMHO!

Look at PeeWee Herman. He was a star for K*ds shows and got caught beating off in a theater. Yes, it messed up his gig as a star for K*ds, but he bounced back in the over-18 market (and he was thin on talent to begin with). Roman Polanski was convicted of inappropriate sex of the worst kind and had to leave the USA to avoid major jail time but people still buy his movies and he is still a celebrity, in Europe since he can't come back here.

OK, I wasn't there so I can't confirm anything but let's look at this situation like this:

Baseball season is over.
Jeter's buddies say, "Dude, there's a place I heard about in Costa Rica where it's just full of hot, young, latin poosy. Let's go down there for a few days and check it out?"

Jeter says, "Yeah, OK, sounds like a good way to relax after the season."

None of them know about CRT so they aren't as informed as we are. No one is planning on running into anyone they know. It would probably be a nice change for a guy who's face is plastered all over NYC to go somewhere and just have a good time without all the BS, paparazzi and gold-digging bitches trying to get his money and their 15 minutes of fame.

Just a thought.

Risk what? I still fail to realize what you are getting at. The only ones that recognized him were the gringos who probably have more to lose. What are they going to say to their wives honey I saw Derek Jeter in a brothel.

Even if it hit the newspaper, all they can say is that he was having a drink with friends and talking to ladies. The man is a single playboy. Nobody can confirm what he did later. For him it is a great situation, banging broads who will not extort him as a stripper in the good old USA would.

I think Circus is a bigger celebrity in CR .

BTW Jeter dated Scores strippers and that really brought down his career.

Hugh Grant was the one I was thinking of. In my opinion, "scandal" just does not destroy the careers of celebrities. In many cases, a little steam just enhances their appeal. I think the reaction most people would have if you approached them with "OMG, Jeter was seen in Costa Rica with a gorgeous hooker" would be "Yeah, and...???" So what? Was he on obviously drunk or on drugs, was she unwilling or otherwise inappropriate, was he violent? If not, what's the big deal?

In my opinion, most people regard the golddiggers that hang around celebrities as nothing but ho's anyway, what's the big difference because she gets cash by the visit instead of gifts and rent?

The only way a “press guy” is going to report this is IF he has the story. If it is here-say, so what? BFD. If the writer was not there(physically), had a picture or video to support, no editor is going to bother with this. Guilty by association is not interesting enough.

Now, if a paparazzi took a picture with say, a naked chica in his hotel bed, and Jeter jumping up and down trying to retrieve some thong panties caught in the ceiling fan, THEN, you may have a story. But no slam dunk.

All these guys know and have a relationship with the Press. They know much better than we do and most know where the line is drawn. About the only place this will make news is in a internet bulletin board forum.

Guys I use to work in the Gold Club in Atlanta the World Famous one where all the stuff was happening!!! Yes all celebrities went there and were in VIP 6 and 7 normal hide outs!

I can confirm Senor Jeter is here in CR as I just short chat with the Yankee Captain, he did refuse photos as he was buy the pool here at a hotel outside of San Jose enjoying the sun and did not want to start a photo op situation...

I do have some pics of him by the pool and will upload a few shortly.

He is with two other ball players who I do not recognize and a 4th guy who looks like a friend...

He is tall and much thinner than you would expect.. Nice guy, will try to get some photos with him later he said he would
