I will be making my first trip onFeb. 18-25. I have a room booked at the SL for the trip. Now I have been talking to Eddie at ZB and he is doing a great sales job on one of the suites. Now here is the question. Where would you stay for your first trip to CR? I have to say that after reading everything from you guess about ZB and SL I know I can't go wrong either way. SO what do you think?
I am a huge fan of the SL, no doubt about it. Food and beverage on premises, terrific bar/reception staff, Bill's a great guy, the fitness center is cool, WIFI internet access (when it works) and the small business center.
Frankly, I think ZB is heading for some pretty serious challenges ahead, not the least of which is their labor pool being constantly drained by their hotel guests. I have talked to guys who were terribly disappointed, because half or more of the girls were occupied upstairs most of the day. Several complained that only the dregs were left downstairs. You get guys who greedily occupy 5 girls at a time (and at $100.00 plus tip total, why wouldn't he?), leaving few attractive prospects for walk-ins off the street. There is at this time very little food and beverage, and I don't know about Internet access. They do have a sauna and steam room, two features lacking at the SL.
I don't yet see ZB as a hotel, perhaps because I haven't yet stayed there, but to me, ZB feels like a prostitution business that just happens to have a few hotel rooms, whereas Sportsmen's seems more like a hotel where prostitutes happen to work. It's a huge difference.
