Circus,

Great post. I was just watching a show called "Alive Day memories of Iraq" and I thought what a great sacrifice these young men and women are doing in service to thier country. Then I logged on to CRT and came across this post. Its all got me kind of teared up.

Yo Circus,

A very moving experience thank you for sharing.

I have been hesitant to post since every time I try to honor the brave men and women who willingly defend our life and liberty someone turns it into a political discussion.

I was very hesitant to comment here because I was afraid that would happen to your noble and valiant effort to honor the American GI but then I realized that like the terrorists if they succeed in changing the way we live then they have won.

I refuse to allow them to mute our desire to honor our heroes.

I salute you and the others who have experienced the horror of war. Fortunately I never went through that.

Yo Circus

All of these veterans of any foreign war deserve the respect and gratefulness of all Americans. Including those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

I salute all Veterans for all of their unselfish service.

Mr. Circus,

Very moving post.

It seems that perhaps you two found each other.

I would enjoy reading the old soldiers post about you on his social networking sight.

A sincere thank you and to all veterans :!:

Mr. Circus: Your post is another reason why I listed you as one of the board members that I most want to meet. Vietnam Vet to Vietnam Vet, thank you for your moving words. Although I love to sleep with young women, I also love to speak with wise old men. I was another who returned from southeast asia and was required to shed my uniform as quickly as possible. Now, when I am traveling and meet young soldiers, I am moved to near tears with a desire to truely thank them for their service. Problem is, I get so choked up that I can't. Instead, I will often watch for some soldiers eating in a restaurant and pull their waitress aside and get her to allow me to buy their meal. In truth, they are appreciative of a thank you, but they never ask for anything. Vet to Vets I say, Thank You.

I read last week that Vets as a whole have a higher rate of homelessness than the general population which is an utter disgrace. They go in at the prime of their life then many come out still in their youth but forever scarred mentally or physically (often beyond recognition) for the rest of their life.

No politics today- I spent the day at the local VA volunteering my services, as I do twice a month...

Thank you PM, The toll on a soldiers mental state seeing the horrors of war, friends being killed etc. etc. changes them forever. Not always for the better.

Fortunately or unfortunately I was only a cold war vet. But having served in the armed forces made me a better man.

I am all for a mandatory 2 to 4 years in the military. This is obviously a personal opinion, but I believe it would benefit the youth of today.

For those of you who haven't met "Circus" in person, he is one of lifes most interesting characters. A GENUINE person and a huge supporter of vets.

Circus, for all you do I salute you, and all vets!!!

Circus;
Thanks for the post and your service. I hope everyone here takes the time to thank our Vets for their service this coming Thanksgiving. After all, they made it possible for us to celebrate Thanksgiving.
