I just stayed at the Prez for the weekend with my girlfriend.

I enjoyed it very much. The room (single) was big, huge king bed, clean large towels, excellent breakfast (pinto, bacon/sausage), fresh fruit, eggs cooked to order, cereal, couple types of breads (toast), juice/cofee). I figure we ate about $5 each/day, that lowers the price to $55/day (incl taxes).

Besides that, the staff, from reception to housekeeping, was always very quick to be of service, and was always respectful, especially of my girlfriend who had some reservations about being labeled a puta and didn't really want me to stay there. There were no issues with that since I put her on my reservation.

The only negative was the parking situation. Their "parking lot" is more like a driveway. It is not well suited for SUV's, but I managed well.

When I come back for another weekend in December, I'd consider staying there again. Or maybe we'll try Amistad if it's finished.

The key was you were with your novia. The knock on the Pres has been the uneven enforcement of the dress code. As far as I can remember no one has voiced a serious complaint other than the dress code and some officious security people who enforce it.

Just got back yesterday. Anyway, Being a loyal customer to the Presidente, I have about had it with the Presidente and it's silly rules, virtually every girl is now on their black list for one silly reason or another, and / or they find a way to not allow them in because of their dress. Now, they won't even allow you to go up and bring down a jacket or something for them to wear ( Depending on who is working the desk), their management have just become completely unreasonable.

I can't find a good reason to stay there when I am constantly having to rent another room at Motel Eden, Morazon or Asia to be with the chica of my liking.

It has just become ridiculous and I feel everyone should start looking for an alternative. Maybe they will figure it out.

Has anyone explored any other hotels, who are nice, charge less then $85 per night out the door including tax, and don't charge for the girls to visit?

Everyone please let me know your thoughts.
I heard if you book the Master Suite you will have no problems. Master Suite = $$$$$ Get it? I personally stay at the Amon Plaza. $70. a night with taxes and no chica fee's. Taxi's are out front all hours of the night. I've never stayed at the SL because it seems you have to book 2 years in advance for a dam room. Maybe someday I'll split the Master Suite with someone. Then again it's never available either. Dam-it. Come on Bill, build some more rooms. LOL

#1 Favorite, Sportsman's Lounge. The most fun in San Jose. Bill, BUY the entire block.

#2 Del Rey, never had one negative experience there, staff always nice & welcoming, great to be at ground zero too !

I have a penthouse at La Amistad for Christmas through New Years,
will post a review after that stay.

How did I managed to get pulled into this thread

The thing is, I usually just shoot out multiple emails to various hotels at the same time, and in turn I usually get a couple automatic reservations. The problema is I usually dont cancel them until quite a ways down the road for whatever reason.

How was I to know the Presidente wasnt going to burn down or something? Then youd all be jelous you didnt have 5 hotels booked

That said, if a girl are on the banned list there is probably a damn good reason for it.

I was staying at the Hotel Nuevo Johnson New Years 05. Everything else in town was booked solid and the $10 per night fee was attractive.

I brought a girl back and she was on the Nuevo Johnson banned list :D

Now that is a Banned List with some Umph :!:
