I typed this fast... looking at it again here are corrections...

in the first line about a close restaraunt it should be "cerca de aqui"

in the line about "I thought I should just come over and introduce myself" there's a typo... this sounds better...

"Hola, no quería asustarte con solo mirarte toda la noche, así que pensé, mejor vengo yo par saludarla".

And a final note... I put the word "usted" a lot, which is not used so much by people here because they imply/intuit the "you" from context...

However as a foreigner speaking to her in an unfamiliar context it's good to be as clear as possible. Sometimes girls won't understand you at first even if your Spanish is fine, just because they're wondering "what's going on, why is he talking to me?"

I think you have lots of good stuff there but most of it was written for the gringa culture.

In the states yea , the one decade rule, in latin america the 2 decade rule applies.

You are wrong about the dancing too, in a latin culture it is very important. And lots of non latin non black people can dance. Just because you can't doesn't mean someone else can't. If you can't dance forget about having much luck at a dance club. And most Ticas love to go out and dance, thats what they do on the weekends.

And I think latinas like a much more aggresive man. In the bedroom and everywhere else. A man in charge , not a sweet giving man. A man who holds his ground not a man who gives her everything she wants. Thsi is what the latinas have been raised to accept and desire.

How about walking up to a beauty with a big confident smile , tell her how beautiful she is and go from there. Forget about all those little mind and word games. Piropos , which are clever complimentary phrases are an art form here and can be greatly appreciated by the beauty if they are not vulgar.

Grooming and dressing nice are also very important.

The single most important thing is to learn how to dance even if you are white.

Not much chance of this happening. Ticos/Ticas are polite to a fault.

2 decade rule does apply in Latin America. Latin women have a preference for established men.

Sorry, I need to be real with you guys, there is no preference, there is at times (usually to do desperation) a tolerance at best.

It's a little more complicated actually. Here's what I see as the scale of maximum age differences to still allow for non-creepy relationships with the possibility of real mutual affection.

Guys up to 30 can date any legal age.
30-50 means he can date maximum up to 10-15 years younger (as he approaches the older end himself).
50-70 maximum 20-25 years younger
70+ absolute maximum of 30-35 years younger.

Also, guy has to be extra healthy and appear much younger than his real age if he's gonna go close to those maximums.

Like I've said before, there are enough nice looking older ladies out there who would actually care for an older guy that I don't know why some old guys are still going for relationships with granddaughterly girls; maybe they don't understand that everyone else is making fun of them and despising them behind their backs, and that she's just waiting for him to die or otherwise look the other way?

Ok if a Gringo learns to latin dance really WELL, then that's major chick points. On the other hand, learning to dance mediocrely is worse than just not dancing.

In my experience I've found that the girls who ONLY or MAINLY just want to go out to dance are usually space cadets who can't hold a real conversation. Also, they're often not that great in bed since they already constantly "express themselves sensually" through the safe pseudo-sex of dancing.

I know there are exceptions to this.
