True, but when game 16 is in the books, you can bet one of them will be gone the next day.

What one. We only have one coach and Tom Coughlin is a good coach! He has been a head caoch in the league for 11 years and his teams have been in the playoffs 6 times.

I don't believe Tom Couglin will be dismissed during the season...of course, if this year has "Tom Must GO" chants at the Meadowlands I reserve the right to change my opinion.

Here is my take on that situation,

Couglin would have been let go after last season EXCEPT that the man they wanted (Bill Cowert) would have required the NYG to pay Pitt a large amount of money and give up a draft choice. That will not be in play next season so the Giants decided to keep Couglin this year, heave him overboard after the season, sign Cowert.

Remember sports fans you heard here.

Again another history lesson. The Ronneys and the Mara's are related by blood. There is no way in H**l that the GMEN would hired a dismissed Pittsburg coach the same year he quit. NO WAY!

Besides Cowher is my neighbor now here at RDU he wants to coach Carolina.

Let us not forget last year the Giants stared 6-2 before imploding. Dallas can get off to as hot a start as they'd like; much like as in horse racing the first 1/2 mile isn't going to determine the winner.
Eli will have the Giants ready when it counts.

The GMEN did not inplode. Half of the team was hurt!

and this has changed WHAT exactly.....Mora's son is now running the team with the same tight pockets and old fashioned thinking
Who will be the next coach..My guess, Greg Schiano, current Rutgers coach, cheap and an up and comer.....

Go smoke another of your stogies and stick to what you know....

How did you know I was lighting up

I do not beleive you know what you are talking about. John Mara is about wins and losses. But I will state that every GM wants to hire his own coach and The GMEN just hired a new GM. In other words Coughlin better win a playoff game this year or else

Couple of points. Jerry Richardson does not have the money to hire Cowher. Carolina can not offer enough dollars to make him give up his cushy TV job.

Cowher was not dismissed and the New York Football Giants did not try to hire him the same year he quit that is why the gave Coughlin an extension. If Cowher had been available Coughlin was gone. We are talking 2008 season hire not the 2007 season.Professional football is big business and a Rooney/Mara family connection will not stand in the way of either man doing what he feels is the best thing for his team.

NY Giants in the playoffs in 2007/08     That is too funny.

Again, I will be       if Coughlin makes it through the season. He barely made it through last year (see below)

74-70 Record and 4-4 in playoffs with Jacksonville and ZERO championship games and a 25-23 record coming in to the season with your beloved NY Giants not to mention that 0-2 record in the playoffs.....

Great Coaches win playoff games and championships ala Bill Parcells.

Oh yea a great coach. Play off record 4 wins 5 losses . Regular season record 85 wins and 75 losses (10 complete seasons). That means he averages one more win per year than loss. A real Vince Lombardi :P :P

Comparing Tom Coughlin to Vince Lombardi! Now THAT'S funny!!! Coughlin isn't even worthy of tying Vince Lombardi's tennis shoes! :P And the Giants will be lucky to get 6 wins this entire season!

MG

6 wins? You are crazy. The Giants will win at least 8, and I dare say they might even surprise people. :D
And they did implode last year. Injuries are just part of the game.
I would not go crowning Dallas NFC East and/or NFC and/or Super Bowl Champs just yet, MG. :D

ID have you seen Cowher on TV? He really looks like he would rather be on the sideline. I cannot see him in NY. Outside of the Yankee Manager nobody gets scrutinized more than the coach of the GMEN. Except for maybe Eli. I do not think Cowher would want to deal with that.

If Jerry Richardson (who has a good coach now BTW) does not have the money to hire the coach he wants  he should sell his team :P
