I ate at this restaurant. Although it is busy it isn't always full. The prices are decent and the speed of service relatively fast. They sell some sort of yellow desert, I'm not sure what it was called, but it was delicious. I had the fish and french fries. I also had the beef with onions.

That dessert you described sounds like "flan," a popular Costa Rican dessert......similar to egg custard. It's good, and real cheap at Soda Peru. :)

I just had the steamed sea bass with onions there. Awesome.
The name above the door says " delicoso del peru"
I think that is the real name.

French fries are papas fritas. Never had anything at Delicuous Del Peru that wasn't great. Will be there for Lunch friday most likely. rbc100

The chicken sandwich was awful, really. Stick to the seafood.

Very much enjoyed my first trip to CR along with a visit to Soda Peru.. I had the pleasure of dining with El Silencio, HolaB, Admin and one other Gentlemen I am sorry I do not remember your handle.

There was also 5 other CRT guys in there as well... Everything that came out looked fantastic, I had the boneless garlic Chicken rice and veggies... as good as it gets 2300 colones...

Thanks for lunch guys!

I have been there over 10 times. Only once did I order something different than my regular dish. I always order the Chicharrón de Pescado (Sea Bass w/ tartar sauce). It's a plate of small pieces of fried sea bass, 4 yucca strips, the typical tomato/onion salad, and a side dish of very good tartrar sauce.

One time, I tried the Ceviche and didn't like it at all. The chunks are big and smell/taste too fishy, if you know what I mean. The best ceviche that I have had in San Jose was in Princessa Marina followed by Del Mar.

Hey Sunny, glad you enjoyed the comida de Soda Peru. Boudmon was the other gent.

Once again this favorite of the CRT crowd showed why this may be one best deals in town. From the Seafood soup in a hearty stock, Shrimp soup made with coconut milk, the fried yuuca (papa fritas) Seabass and check out the bbq short ribs on Fridays.

Arrive with an appetite as portions are generous. Service can be a tad slow but hey good food made to order is worth the wait. Dessert is served with the daily specials (1900- 2400c) nice inexpensive place for the chicas.

I've eaten there 3 times this trip...still no disappointments. I hope the high quality and low prices remain.
