I recently found out that I have to cancel my Nov trip to SJO (believe it or not, I am going with family to Disneyworld ) .I called AA and they were very kind to issue me a FULL credit for my ticket. It was a very classy move and I really appreciate it.

DG, Do you have any kind of elite status with AA, or did you ask them to waive any fees?

I have no special status with AA...I rarely use them. I simply asked the agent if I could change the flight without penalty and he said no, but he would give me a full credit for a future flight.

Did you show them your CRT or something?

I am of the understanding that if you buy an AA ticket and the price drops they'll credit you the difference. If that's true it's a pretty honest policy also.

USAIRWAYS will send you a credit voucher as well if the the price drops on a ticket you've already purchased. I've done it several times. Along with the voucher they send you a nice letter stating that they do indeed have a low price guarantee......if the price drops after you buy a ticket, they'll give you a credit voucher for the difference.

As a-matter-of-fact........I plan on calling them tomorrow to ask for a voucher since the price has dropped on my scheduled January trip which I have already paid for. The only problem is, that TACA has since come out with a new price that is even much lower than the new USAIRWAYS price.
