Travel Size Contact Lens Solution.

Because we can no longer bring liquids on board and aircraft in larger than 3 ounce containers, a new market has emerged in travel size containers of necessities.

Recently while buying contact lens solution, I notice my regular 4 ounce bottle was $6.49 while the convienient "travel size" 1 ounce container with plastic lens case was $7.49.

Ughh.

Yea.
I am still waiting for them to make a 3 oz toothpaste.
It seems they go from 0.85 oz to 4.5 oz.
I thought they would have done that by now.

So, is it possible to bring just a carry-on and have toiletries?

I'm going for a weekend only, so I was hoping to just bring a carry-on to save time.

Any other tips about only bringing a carry-on? Thanks.

I never check bags anymore, your liquids & gels just have to be the small size and no more than you can fit in a 1 qt. ziploc bag.
Quote:
Limit all liquids, gels, aerosols, and pastes to a maximum container size of 3.4 oz/100ml.
Place all such items in a quart-size, clear plastic, zip-top bag.
Remove your quart-size bag from your carry-on and place in the provided bin as you approach the checkpoint.

The two keys are 3 oz on size and all liquids or gels must fit in a quart size zip lock bag. You can get a lot in the quart size bag if packed carefully. I switched to an electric razor to eliminate shaving cream or gel use solid deodorant that does not need to go in the bag. I usually have travel size toothpaste, 1.7 oz cologne, 2 travel size mouthwash, hand sanitizer and small KY lube. Check with the TSA site on medical supplies. I know they have exemptions for certain medical needs. The site is http://www.tsa.gov/311/index.shtm

You should be able to get a 2 ounce sample from your Optometrist at no cost.$7.49 is highway robbery!
