Have had wonderful experiences with Taca, including upgrades to Biz class in both directions on my last 2 trips. I will not fly anyone else to CR

Spirit so far has been fine for me.You cant beat the $200 price out of Orlando.1 stop in Ft laud is ok for me, I just dont check bags, carry on is the way to go.Only problem so far was when they started loading the plane from front and rear in San Jose, what a cluster fock.

I voted AA but Taca is good too. $19.00 + tip cab ride to MIA via Coral Gables Taxi, always waiting for me out front of my hotel/condo conversion & on time. Living in a hotel has its benefits. Ask Harry Carry. In fact, I live in a suite, so if anyone is ever stuck in MIA there is a foldout bed in the living room.

Concourse D - all the bar tenders know me and give a double poor of Chivas. Damn I wish they had Clan MacGregor?

Taca and Lacsa on Concourse A always good. Plus I like the free pour from the 5th bottles on their beverage cart. Free drinks for all. Sat next to a Catholic Nun on a flight from SJO to Managua years back and she drank the whole damn fifth of whiskey. :P

On a return from Managua to MIA the flight crew introduced me to Red Eyes one morning after a rather unpleasant night. Beer with tomato juice. Oh that was worth the price of poker. As I recall that was the trip that the Managua Police escorted me to my gate in cuffs. I asked for an upgrade as a celebrity personality. They declined the upgrade but at least let me board. And of course there were the Red Eyes

Right now Taca has RT from Chicago for $259. Unheard of price. I'll be booking later today for Mid October. That is an all-in price.

Not only Chicago. I booked 6 trips back in May from NY, some for $238 and some for $251. :D

Also US Airways, Delta and American and until recently Continental have the same low fare $189 base fare, about $250 to $260 all-in depending on connections. And Orange is right, this deal is available in alot of cities and has been available for awhile now. For this particular go around of "unheard of" prices you can thank Spirit Airlines, if your lucky to be in a market where Spirit flies you can take advantage of these great deals.

However, the deal is not quite "unheard of", there was a better deal from a number of midwestern cities on AA, Delta, and Continental to San Jose including from Chicago for a base fare of $72. Unfortunately the deal only lasted a few hours about 4 years ago. PIDD was one of us lucky enough to grab it so he can vouch for the deal.
