For those of you who are now looking for a Thread that caused some controversy yesterday it has now been removed.

I am not one to censor and I feel everyone has a right to their opinion. The unfortunate incident after review was certainly a bad case in judgement by the participants, and at the same time subsequent reactions handled inproperly. What started off as a prank could have turned seriously ugly and its thread & subseqent responses in my opinion not in the best interest of this board.

If you agree or not as to if this should have remained active, I slept on this for 24 hours and thought about if this should stay or go. I then reminded myself this is an organization of GENTLEMEN, who should treat the ladies and each other in a manner that is in definition of the word.

If personalities clash, or with the amount of members who are either registered, VIP's or specifically at a CRT event, that word GENTLEMEN should come to mind in future events & or situations.

It is difficult to separate at times what is good for the whole when I am so close to all the parties and know each for either many years or at least more than a passing conversation. I would think that we can all move past this and any future issues should be moved passed or handled in private as this should have been.

With that said, I hope a lesson can be learned from this as I certainly do not wish that a small incident of this nature, should lend itself to a negative mark against the membership or this board on a whole

Thank you....

To prevent any similar misunderstandings next year, any and all practical jokes shall be played on Florida. :D

I agree, good job Admin1.

When you add alcohol and egos and a lot of guys that only know each other in print you have the potential for a flare up of this nature. I am actually suprised at how few we have and how good natured the crowd usually is.

I agree also Admin 1. Best to defuse the situation. It was getting out of hand.

I would add that it is too bad that some have to take themselves so seriously. We are supposed to be all about having a good time and if someone plays a joke, lighten up and laugh it off. Or better yet, get even.

A practical joke should not be the cause for an emotional melt down among a social group that promotes having FUN.

Just my opinion.

Good job Admin1 on de-fusing the situation. And IMHO, regardless of who’s right or who’s wrong, these types of things are easily avoidable.

This is (and always has been) a board of like-minded GENTLEMEN. With the amount of stress that we all have in our daily lives, we don’t need to travel all the way to CR, and be involved in a situation like this. This was nothing more than an unfortunate incident - between two good guys – that simply got out of hand.

But I will say this…
If that old man MuffDiver keeps getting more (and better) tail than me, there’s gonna be a problem!!! :P

Pura Vida Gentlemen,
MG

Note - Repeat Warning for Newbies

I tell you, one of the most unfortunate experiences in my life was running into that cad El Ciego and one of many his nefarious companions, Circus.

One day, after bumping into them in the lobby of the Presidente, when I made the bitter mistake of asking them for advice on arranging a Day Tour, they quickly assured me that the Tour Desk at the Del Rey was the place to go (I believe now that they often lay in wait for innocents abroad such as myself to play their cruel sport, but I digress)…

Something about “The Tour Desk here has it’s head up it’s ass” claimed the latter….while, I swear, I heard the former mutter under his fetid breath (my advice is to stand slightly behind and to the side when engaging in intercourse with this lout) “and so do you”.

Well, I innocently followed these wolves to the Del Rey where we were greeted by a scowling security detail that informed me that while I was welcome, my present company was under probation for ‘corrupting the pristine atmosphere of this staid establishment”.

Unfazed, they blithely remarked that their ‘home office’ was nearby and if I accompanied them, I would be provided all the services necessary for a wonderful, wonderful Day Tour. “Why, we’ll even throw in a genuine Cuban cigar. You’ll Love IT”, they boasted.

I should have taken my leave after observing street urchins, fruit vendors and the public in general recoiling in horror (some of them darting into heavy traffic to avoid this pair of suspect mores).

Presently, however, we entered a verdant park with lush foliage, many benches and seemingly interesting groups of very attractive young ladies.

“Well, here we are” they said as we approached a disarrayed collection of cardboard boxes, “Over there are the ‘facilities’”, they said while pointing to a large pickle jar half filled with a yellow liquid and some sort of brown lump floating in it.

I politely declined their feeble attempt of hospitality and replied “I wish to see some spewing volcanoes”.

“Oh, I got your ‘spewing volcano’ alright” replied the first above-mentioned sinner. “And here comes your ‘tour guide’, Joesy. IT has your ‘Cuban cigar’ as promised and will show you all the ‘spewing volcanoes’ you can handle”.

My ‘tour guide’, Joesy, while oddly fetching from a distance, strangely reminded me of a Penn State linebacker up close.

And so, my protests to no avail, I was led away to an horrific experience of such magnitude that to this day is too painful (literally) to discuss.

I can only imagine if the ‘Cuban cigar’ had come with a ‘blue pill’. I may still be ‘smoking’ that bad boy.

I concur, never, never ask these sordid examples of humanity for advice….especially on the topics of ‘cigars’ or ‘spewing volcanoes’.

Caldude,

I can't speak for Circus on this topic, but I must say that my personal experience with EC, (now more than 1 year ago) when I was a newbie in CR, and staying at the SL, was very similar.

I wouldn't take advice from that guy anymore than I believe he is truly blind. I think that's all just a scam to confound newbies, and get them to stay at the CCI...

Just a clarification, since I've gotten PM's regarding this...

I was kidding with my previous post, as I believe was Caldude.

EC is a gentleman, maybe not a scholar, but definitely a gentleman, although I heard he DOES get raucous after several drinks, I haven't witnessed this myself... Of course MOST of the people I know get pretty raucous after a few drinks...

As far as Circus is concerned, I HAVEN'T A CLUE.

OK, OK, OK... I KNOW I'm in the minority here, BUT...

Having not been at the aforementioned event, and witnessed the discussion, I did read 1/2 of the story, and at this point would like to know more details, and having spent the better part of the year going back and forth with party #2 on this forum, emails, etc, I personally would like to hear the other 1/2 of the story...

Although, flames are horrific, and I abhor people who get into flame wars, I did want to know what happened, now that I'm peripherally aware of the goings on...

BUT I don't want to open wounds, or pour salt on them, just my insatiable curiosity...
