What are your total expenses per day, on average, for food, drinks, massage sessions, taxi's, chica's, ect... NOT counting hotel room? Would the veterans step up to the plate with advice, tips, ect. to assist rookies in planning their first trips?

My budget also changes with my gambling wins/losses.

What I usually do is a massage at zb for about 35 or a double for around 70 for a half hour session..........eat at the News cafe......gamble.....walk around.....gamble.....pick up a NY bar girl, a BM girl, maybe a trip to Idem for around 42 to 70 bucks...........so my daily output is around 120 or less. Then again on my last trip, the dice table was with me and I had to visit the ATM a lot less, which made the trip a lot less expensive.

I think your poll numbers need to be adjusted a little lower. If you paid the going rates for the chicas without negotiating. You'd be hard pressed to go into the $200+ range. Probably need to go $100-149 $150-199 $201-249 and $250+

hour session at the MP $50
1-2 hour session with BM chica $60-100
Food $25
Drinking $30
Taxis $10
Drinking $30
Tours $75 (if you swapped an MP session for a tour)

Here is a post from Ace that I found really useful on my first trip.

I'm somewhat frugal, though I spend more money than I used to when I first started going.

Hardly any money for taxis, because I like to walk, and during the day I normally look in the Tico places first, and when I don't find anything, go to ZB or NF, usually for half hour sessions.

And after they are closed, pull one out of BM, but don't need a taxi for that either.

Try to treat myself to a nice meal in the evening, but during the day just get something local to go. JUST SAY NO TO AMERICAN FAST FOOD !!!

Well, I almost always get a cone next to Presidente or Mickey D's, but that doesn't count, because it's not really food. Come to think of it, neither is MacDonald's ......

Snooky, It seems you may be right about the prices in the poll being a bit high. Could the admins change the poll questions to reflect a lower range of daily expenses?

The first couple of nights, I usually go all out. When I finally get out of bed a day later, I'm always wondering how the hell I spent that much cash and then have to make the walk to the ATM's hungover.
Sometimes I'm thinking man if this thing eats my card or my banks have put a fraud hold on my cards(which happened my first trip there in 97) I'm phucked.
Shellshocked in San Jose.

Some days I spent more than 300 and some days 30 bucks just recuperating in the apartment..Never more than 30mil for a session with a mujere. Most of the time 20 mil, a few times 10mil.
Never left San Jose area.
2 week total in may over $3000.00 not including air and lodging.
Air $850 first class roundtrip by upgrading from vegas
Lodging $450 nine days at Scotland and $650 6 days at Holiday Inn (w room service and mini bar.)
Total around 5 grand.

A two week trip can be done much cheaper if you stay away from imported vodka, room service, and expensive eateries.

I concur with Snooky. Your amounts/ranges are too high.

YO Budget Buffs:
Damn, some pretty high numbers. Although I do not usually disclose my financial info........I'll show you the Circus daily budget in order to help some of you newbies.

1. Food $7.50 (late dinner). Breakfast free at the Pres plus what I smuggle out bread, fruit etc. for lunch later. Tips: $3.00
2. Booze $12. I have 3 sessions (mid morning, afternoon & evening)where I buy a bottle of coke and a shot of vodka from the bar and then use my own vodka mini refills.
3. Taxis $4. I walk a lot and seldom stagger.
4. Tours -0- Been there, done that.
5. Condoms -0- I wash and re-cycle the one I carry.
6. Email costs: -0- DR & Pres PC's
7. Laundry -0- Wash my jocks & socks in the bath sink and blow dry.
8. Begger donations -0- Shit on that. I usually roll the red cross nurse now and then for loose change and give it to the tuba guy to shut up.
9. DR chicas........yeah, right
10. Blow jobs: $13. for the mid day one. N.C. for the shower head one in the evening.

Gambling not included.

Humm, let's see. That comes to $39.50 a day for the Circus plan. I know that sounds expensive but I'm there to have a good time. Hope this helps some of you spend thrifts.

Circus, washing condoms is a little beneath me but, I do ask the ticas if they have any freebies. My Dr. supplies all the viagra I need, so that's saves quite a bit of dinero.
Heavy coffee drinker, cuts down on me bar bill. It's amazing how long an Imperial will last with a glass of ice. 2 bucks for dinner at the local restaurants will keep your budget in line. If you reallly have to splurge, 2 hours at 747 is only $36. If you can manage to stay away from the crap tables, you can usually have a good time for under $100 a day.

Funny, I was just reading on a website about the history of condoms and about washing and reusing condoms when I read Circus' comments . I know I've gotta get a life

Quote:
Rubber condoms were mass-produced after 1844, when Charles Goodyear patented the vulcanization of rubber, which he invented five years earlier. Condoms made of sheep's intestines are still available. They are now disposable and should only be used once. In the 1940s and 50s, they were washed, slathered in petroleum jelly, and kept in little wooden boxes in a bedroom drawer—but they weren't talked about—in front of the K*ds, anyway.

Anyways, if anyone wants to read more about it go here.

Are you kidding? Even with the hotel I rarely spend much more than $100 and usually less (often much less) than that. A visit to an MP, lunch, a few beers and occasionally a nice dinner out are plenty most days. People staying 2 or 3 days may look upon things differently.

When we exchanged dollars into Colones during our last trip, my friend wa calling the Colones funny money. It was being spent like that too. It is hard to keep track of it so I tend to spend a lot.
