I'm looking to add some more songs for my upcoming trip. What I want to know is ... what are some good songs that you guys know the chicas really like? I know alot of them like hip-hop , but I don't so I wont be interested in that. Need some stuff that I can tolerate too. Latin songs or American pop/rock/country. Any advice will be appreciated. :)

Reggae is always a good choice. They all seem to love that. Classic stuff and the new faster style with techno mixed in. They also love reggaeton which , despite the name, has no relation to reggae and sounds like crap.
Cant miss with those.

Man get some jazz for the room 8)

Fourplay, Boney James, Bob James or Joshua Redmend. Even throw in some Monk. The Harem loves those guys :D

YO NYG:

I'm a Jazz fan also. You bring up an interesting suggestion that I have never thought about. It is unclear to me if chicas get into recorded jazz but I do know that several latino ladies I've taken to jazz concerts in the states really got moved by the sounds and scene.

Jazz is truly a reflection of an artist's soul and instant creativity. The spontaneous piano player and horns following segments are a joy to behold.

I have some fond memories of the hole in the wall clubs in New Orleans during the sixties. Good sounds and vibs.

I love Motley Crue but prefer RATT. My brother was the drummer. :D Don't know if the chicas will like either though. Maybe some Elton John?

After downloading HUNDREDS of songs for my 'novia', I've got everything you might or want need in that catagory. Bring the MP3 player on down when you come and first night or two, we'll load 'er up!

Let me recommend the Reggae group " Easy Stars All Stars" ..they remixed Pink Floyds "Dark Side of the Mooon" reggae style. Their album is called "Dub Side of the Moon". Its makes some great screwing music. It has raggae for the honeys..and still fills the need for some rock and roll.

Shawn,

I would go with Michael Bolton. Talk about a no brainer.

From Hogman’s prompt, I checked out the “Easy Stars All Stars" and their version of Dub Side of The Moon on I-Tunes. It is interesting, but (with all do respect to Hogman), my feelings are that you don’t screw with SOME classics.

Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of Moon” (for me) has provided some fantastic screwing music. But, IMHO, Pink Floyd’s album, “Wish You Were Here” is the standard for which all good Chica Screwing Music is judged.

In 1997, I first visited Rio de Janeiro prior to moving there in 1998. On the first day in Rio, I was sitting at the sidewalk café named Maabs restaurant in Copacabana, trying to communicate with this very charming and unbelievably sexy little Brasilada. As she could not speak any English and I at the time did not speak Portuguese, we struggled to communicate. As we were sitting, there, a young guy with a guitar walked up and began playing “Wish You Were Here” and began singing the lyrics. The Brasilada began singing along and knew every English word to the song. From that moment, something clicked between us and thus began 2 days of incredible Sport Sex and fun.

I try to always carry a CD (and/or on my I-Pod) of it to CR.

Some other music that I enjoy, as well as some of the Chicas I’ve sampled; Los Lonely Boy, Santana, Aerosmith, Los Lobos, Texas Tornados, Bob Marley, Eagles, Hootie & The Blowfish, to name a few.

But for me, Pink Floyd’s; Wish You Were Here is usually a home-run. If not, it’s a least a stand up triple.

I regularly use Ben Webster, late Miles (i.e., Silent Way), Stan Getz, et al. To good effect.

A couple of weeks ago I took a favorita to one of the concerts promoted by the International Jazz Festival. Based on the program we were expecting a sextet from the Berklee School of Music. Instead we got a piano trio from Guatemala. The music was excellent, but I suspect their Bill Evanish style was a little too subtle for my friend.

Latinas taste in music can be as varied as ours (well—not quite). I've found chicas that loved Elvis, The Eagles, George Strait, Maria Callas, LCD Soundsystem and Armenian folk music.

For me the best choices in Latin music have been Marc Antonio Solis, Juan Luis Guerra, Ricardo Arjona, Alejandro Fernandez, Alejandro Sanz, and Victor Manuelle.

Female artists: obviously Shakira, but also Ana Barbara, Jennifer Pena and Mariana.

Bachata, cumbia and vallenato artists include Frank Reyes, Los Toros Band, Luis Vargas, Pastor Lopez and Monchy & Alexandra

It seems to me that Reggaeton is dipping in popularity, at least among my 24-27 year old target group.

The ultimate weapon for chicas is akin to the hotel nicey-nicey kits you find plus obviously the electronics.

Here's my beta kit:

-> A digital music player. In this instance, I hate apple Ipods with a passion. And yes, I'm in the computer business and have been for 25 years. I can tell you honestly that any time you buy an Ipod, Iphone, or Imac, you're in essence paying for cool design and the pop/cool/hip factor. This is a discussion for another subject, true, but my point here is that almost any digital music player (with decent play list control, and decent storage options) will work fine. I use a cheapo $79.99 Walmart special with 2GB of ram and a play list controller. Plus is comes with FM radio.

-> Speakers. A micro setup will work, radio shack carries these. Usually powered in each speaker (left/right) by a small 9V battery. Obviously, for the audiophiles in the house, any 'speakers' simply will not do and we'll see them with $1K Cerwins or similar. My choice will be http://reviews.cnet.com/speakers-speaker-systems/lg-portable-stereo-speakers/4505-6467_7-31929465.html?tag=img. At 1/2-CIEN, it's a bargain sure to please, and light on the luggage and wallet. [ANDALE MAMI, ANDALE!]

-> Music. A 2GB mp3 card is a great tool to fill up the novia-de-momento with wonderful sounds as you fill her with your other tool. [OY QUE RICO!] I've got a selection of reggaeton, reggae, rock, some rap and hip-hop and now a large selection (and growing) of classical. Add to this a new-age, retro and some new indie rock, and she'll be left with no choice but "Claro, Papi" as we rock and roll and rock the boat some more.

-> Small candles, tea-type. Maybe 5-10. Ambiance is key, no? Either scented or not, if not scented, then ...

-> Some incense. [CLARO QUE SI]

-> Love beads -- ok, ok, I'm going too far. But seriously, why not?

-> Scented massage oils. (SOMEBODY STOP ME)

Whew. I went from one small carry-on and a duffel to about 10 30-gallon luggage 'bags' (the kind I see people buying crap and taking back with them, these luggage toting folks have the system down, I tell you). I probably need to trim my options and choices here, but in all honesty, if the foregoing stuff can get your lovely darling wet, ready and in the mood, that $[insert charge here] you just spent to unload your worries and bide some time between beers with the fellas will be much better spent, IMHO.

I agree. And I remember a particular favorita getting exciting when "Money" came on and her eyes brightened and she said "THAT'S MY SONG!!!"

For the TLNs, where things are going to eventually wind down to sleeping, (while the huevos are busy manufacturing leche for the "duro de manana"), I like Liquid Mind. It's dreamy. stream of consciousness, new age stuff by a a guy named Chuck Wild. Gets the chicas relaxed. You can find some on Limewire.
